I will not watch a Ghostbusters remake until I am, in fact a ghost.
But only because I will be able to slime the sh*t out of the screen until it's opaque enough that nothing can be seen.

Somewhat on topic. I really, really hope Hollywood does not screw up the Avengers movies and marvel movies when Thanos steps out of the shadows.
I think it is about a Navy SEAL but I could be wrong. The trailer is based on what can only be the first real scene.
I looked at the trailer. Yes. It's the man, Chris Kyle. The Devil of Rammadi.
He was killed a few years back by some PTSD'd idiot.
Uhm, not a term? It's a warm, red spice in my cabinet?
Sounded awfully Czech.
idk the movies are fine its the solo movies i worry aboutSomewhat on topic. I really, really hope Hollywood does not screw up the Avengers movies and marvel movies when Thanos steps out of the shadows.
Since everybody is talking movies, I figured I'd say I'm going to see American Sniper tonight with a few of my classmates.
No doubt I'm going to enjoy the hell out of this movie.
I'm torn on this one. I am sure it will be well made. Eastwood is a solid director. Cooper a decent actor. But the guy they made this film about was pretty problematic an individual in terms of his personal views.
Marvel is pretty good on the movie front.
DC on the other hand *shakes head*
I read that they are planning on Captain marvel, wonder woman and black panther movies

I think everyone is feeling the same way, except those that have never read a comic in their life. Marvel know better than to **** up their biggest reveal.

Nobody can replace Bill Murray's coolness. It's a baton that can never be passed.
Kind of like how nobody replaces Arnold's niche well.

Should have kept Christian Bale instead of replacing him. He was so good as Batman.
Sounded awfully Czech.
Lol, maybe it is. Hang on, let me go google!

There are exceptions to the "remakes are a bad idea" trope... Not many, granted, but Battlestar Galactica springs to mind...
Even that remake was... iffy for me. Started off great. Then suddenly turned into Touched By an Angel.. in space.

True. It's why I was a little apprehensive about the movie originally, but I'm willing to give it a shot now. The trailers and critical reception have sold me on the thing.

John Carpenters The Thing is a great example of a remake done correctly. Especially when you take into account that the original was way ahead of it's time.

Did you watch the re-make of Robocop? I watched the original so much growing up, loved it can't say I'll sit through the re-make though, heard it was terribad which didn't surprise me, remakes of classics usually are.

Yep. Lady from Fast&Furious is Wonder Woman, someone has already been cast as Black Panther and they are doing the Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel.

Paprika is a spice made from air-dried fruits of the chili pepper family of the species Capsicum annuum. Although paprika is often associated with Hungarian cuisine, the chilies from which it is made are native to the New World.

Paprika is a well known spice.

I heard that it wasn't actually as bad as all that, but still pointless as it wasn't anywhere near as good as the original. Same with Total Recall...
Hmm...yes but with one exception. In the early 70's which is when I started being taken to the movies there was a more clear delineation between top of the line A pictures and what were called B pictures. You could open a paper and find theatres showing stuff for the general public and then others showing the grindhouse or b films and some of these were simply released to the drive-ins.
I find the line more blurred now than it was then. There was a lot of crap released in 1971 but you could avoid it better as we didn't have the multiplexes so our local two theater cinemas would tend to pick the most mainstream dramas or top line action films to draw the crowds in.
You mean distinctions like 'big budget', 'indie', 'art house' films? ![]()

I won't bother with either Robocop or Total Recall.
Those are still awesome. Especially Total Recall.

Funnily, since we're talking both comics and Robocop. the first custom comic I drew was based on robocop. It was Roboduck (it was the 80s. Ducks were in What can I say?). I was 9 when I ifrst saw that movie.. it scarred my brain.

Those were the days when I could believe in an Arnold Schwarzenegger film. He made some damn fun films back then. I'll still watch practically anything with him in it from that period even the intensely ridiculous "Commando." Well they were all ridiculous but so much fun!
