Cassanda: stip this now, i really mean it!

You know... I think I might be okay with romancing her in this case. My Inquisitor is probably somewhat on the stern/driven side, so having someone who could make her laugh would be very nice.
I suspect that she'll be a companion we stumble across, rather than seek out.
As opposed to Iron Bull, who I suspect will be the companion who seeks us out(with bad intentions).
Options don't look good.
If Bioware just gives me a Kelly, I'll be happy.

I agree that we'll probably "run into" her, ala Zevran and Isabela. This seems like a character that's going to make an impression. Although I have a feeling Vivienne may take the prize for grandest (and possibly most overblown) entrance among the companions. That's just me doing a lot of speculating at this point though. I also had mostly the same feeling you did about Iron Bull. I don't think he has bad intentions, and will probably be straightforward about why he asks to join the party.
Whereas I have a feeling that Sera is going to claim her feelings is trivial "Oh, I'm in it for the treasure. Saving the world is nice and all, but you can't go far in Thedas if you're broke!"
Then we find out she has much darker reasons for being there. Not saying she's a bad person, but something is going to bite her in the ass that's going to make what happened with Isabela and the Tome look like a mild sting.
I'm curious to see how her in-game model look... i'm pretty sure she will look different from the early concept art... i mean... look this early concept art ofr Merrill in DA II

Why did you post that?
Now I'm even angrier than I usually am.
I will not forget this, Bioware!

Well there's the speculation that the Scribe girl is gonna be our Kelly/Traynor
It would be quite confusing for me having another Elf that's called Sera...so I hope is not the name of that elf girl ![]()
it would be war between her and Dragonero's Sera in my head
(for who don't know, Sera is the name of a dark haired Elf in the comics Dragonero, an italian comic)

The Scribe girl?
The Scribe girl?

Cheap elven rip off of Veronica.

The Scribe girl?
The Scribe girl?

Girl behind the Inquisitor
Thanks. Why do you guys think she's a scribe?
It's because she looks similar to this picture from the old leaked companion survey:

Ah, okay. Gracias.
So far, it appears there has been confirmation for Varric, Cassandra, Vivenne, Solas, and Iron Bull. Just four companions left, one of which should be 'Sera'.

I consider Sera confirmed even if it isn't official. Besides being in the leaked companion survey and lots of official concept art, there was a small glimpse of her in one of the gameplay videos. She appears to be an archer, or at least that is how she was armed and equipped in the gameplay vid.
It will be interesting see whether she'll always be armed with a bow or whether she can go the same route Leliana did in DA:O, and alternate between the bow and dual-wielded blades.
Scuttlebutt seems to be that we can switch out companion weapon sets again. Cassandra's been seen with both a sword and shield and a two hander, for instance.
I've even been hearing that we can arm Varric with daggers, but that he'll always use Bianca for ranged attacks.

If we can arm Varric with melee weapons I'm totally going for the one-handed axe and dagger combo. Because dwarf.
In any case I hope this scuttlebutt proves to be true. I would like a return to DA:O style customization, where you give all your companions both melee and ranged weapons.
Bioware stated already that companions wouldn't be locked in one type of weapon as in DA2. Even Varric would be able to use dagger, so I doubt Sera woudn't.I consider Sera confirmed even if it isn't official. While I like Varric being able to use daggers, having him use them for anything other than emergencies seems wrong. Varric not using Bianca is like peanut butter without jelly.

I just meant for his melee set. I'm sure there would be circumstances were he'd need to switch from ranged to melee. Bianca of course would his primary.
