I need to go find some alcohol. There's been none in the house for some time and I've been really kind of wanting a drink lately.
This is the "help wintery choose a drink" poll. What should I buy?
1. beer
2. scotch
3. chocolate vodka

Get some scotch in your belly!
She's almost my skin color to be exact, tan but I'm a bit darker
My sisters a bit darker skined but yeah, Briala looked like a tanned colored woman to me immediately.
im a consoler so i have no idea what it says just what im shown
Yeah, I was very surprised when I saw that character because although I didn't read the books, I saw on this forum before that she wasn't supposed to be white and she appeared like that to me.
I thought that in addition to what game shows they straight up wrote that in game files. I found out few days ago that Danaduchy digged into character descriptions in game files made by devs apparently for production process. Bad news for Sera fans - her description is the least favorable of all companions.
Oh huh, I was digging though those files earlier and didn't see the character descriptions...what did...Sera's...say...?

i think he's talking about how in a lot of set-ups (and iirc, he has a 360 so low quality graphics, that might be one of the set-ups) she looks just straight up caucasian.
probably a side effect of the way darker colors are handled in general in the game. not just skin, bur hair colors too. like, here's a comparison between CC and in game for the darkest skin tone and hair color and one of the lighter skin tones and hair colors. you can see there's variance between the two lighting styles in both examples, but it's much stronger when you're dealing with darker tones, they tend to look a lot lighter than you'd expect when you're generating them. i'm guessing bria's more caucasian appearance for some people is due to that.
I'm not a fan of the lighting system in general. Even with everyhting set to ulta colors in general can become really washed out and look several shades lighter than they really are. The character creation is a perfect example of this.
some ale brand i was a bit blind beforehand XDOoh, what kind? It ain't real beer if you can see through it, though
Yeah, it looks like they use a weird combination of either "throw a bunch of spots on it" (CC) or "diffuse light everywhere" (most other cutscenes), which results in the huge variance. I mean, I am hardly an expert on game lighting, and barely that great at lighting in general (used to work in tv production and that was always the most confusing and hard part for me), but there is something about their choices there that strike me as strange, shrug.
There. I removed all the stuff that was utterly irrelevant and just left the crux of your post. First you acknowledge that the game world does indeed work as written, realistic or not, and then go right ahead trying to justify your personal hate for the Dalish with with real-world stuff that is completely and utterly irrelevant to the game world. Nice, but I have seen that tactic used before on the boards and it doesn't work. So sorry. The Dalish survive living as they do. They are the way they are because the world around them is the way it is. And that's the end of it.
It's still a mystery to me though that the Dalish don't get wiped out more often, especially with how they like to threaten people that pass nearby.

This reminds me of Isabela in DA: O, who also looks whiter than her ingame model actually is because of lighting issues.

Like?
Though the Spitfire is supposed to have been named after someone's daughter, who was described as a real spitfire. Beats Supermarine Shrew.
I'm sure it is. To you. It's still a mystery to me though that the Dalish don't get wiped out more often, especially with how they like to threaten people that pass nearby.
Did you guys see the thread where they discovered that Alistair's DA2 model is actually super banging and hot, and it was just the lighting in the game that made him so fuggo, lmao?
Lighting is soooo hard and people tend to forget how much it changes things.
I can't even remember how much a bottle of scotch costs. It's been a long time. Hopefully not too much.
Going out drinking with a friend is nicer but then there's the whole driving thing...

From Danaduchy's Tumblr:
<CharacterName> Sera
<CharacterDescription> Sera is young, raw, frenetic. An activist passionate about causes, but also a selfish criminal. Robs from the rich, keeps it. She’s young and hasn’t thought her beliefs through yet. She is impulsive, and it?’s often not about what’s right, it’s about what’s right now. Has next to no self awareness.
Compare that with Dorian's description:
<CharacterName> Dorian Pavus
<CharacterDescription> Dorian is an aristocratic mage from the Tevinter Imperium— a foreign land where mages rule (even though everywhere else it’s the opposite, and mages are oppressed). Mages from his homeland are considered evil, and for good reason. They’re corrupt, and use forbidden arts as a matter of course. Dorian wants to change that. He’s an idealist, fighting to change his homeland even if he knows it might be hopeless. He’s intelligent, witty and talented— and also confident, to the point of being cocky.
<SpeechPattern> Dorian is very educated, coming from an aristocratic background. He should come across as intelligent, witty and sarcastic. He speaks quickly, a patter which could leave others in the dust, and he’s not about to wait for them to catch up. It’s important that he still come across as likeable— for all his witty banter, he is still a good person at heart.
<Appearance> Stylish, slicked-back black hair, piercings— Dorian is handsome and he knows it. He wears Tevinter mage robes of high quality, and is very fussy about his appearance.
<CharacterArchetype> The Clever Rogue

Anyone with knowledge of photography can preach to you the gospel of lighting and how important it is to a good photo.

And? Whats the issue? Is this not how Sera is in game? Sera even admits that shes selfish and joined the inquisition for selfish reasons.
She is a criminal, and its not like she hides it. And she does keep what she steals for herself. Her targets might be picked out by what she hears from the friends of red jenny, but its never said she shares what she steals with anyone else.
That description of Sera is pretty ridiculous.

This is pretty much exactly what we see in game. Sure, it's not as descriptive or as in detail as Dorians but both are spot on.
Scotch is a bit pricey, sadly. Worth it! But pricey.
You could always get one of those airplane sized bottles of JW Black for cheap and make yourself an Old Fashioned or something.

In a banter, if i recall, she does clearly say she steals and gives when Cass accuses her of being a thief.
Also the description isn't news.

Other than Dorian having more, not really seeing the issue
