oh man. dishonor, Rage. Shaft is like....the start and finish of blaxploitation films. Right up there with Sweetback Jones Badassss. All those movies kept most black film actors and actresses working when Hollywood wasn't so kind to them.

ill take that as a 10! ill back later

No fires please while im gone

And i agree with your view on blaxploitation

Capcom made it. Remember Me. Featuring an equally awesome memory assassin. I guess because Capcom made it sorta comic-ky, it didn't do so well. I personally loved it.

Goddamn you Vivienne. Skyhold is my place! You don't get to just hire movers and rearrange my ****!

You are a guest here, one whose presence I don't even tolerate, but suffer! Learn your place.

Someone please tell me I can slap her. Please?

Krav Maga has a number of McDojos though, so one should always check the credentials of anyone teaching it.

Sambo is more grappling based a la Judo but has more of an emphasis on debilitation an enemy or opponent's legs.
As there are Sambo or affiliated Judo associations, McDojos are less of an issue with it.

The Sambo you are most likely to find a school for yes. Military Sambo sometimes confused with "combat Sambo" has more broader focus on self defense and shares some of aspects with Krav Maga. I still would recommend both over any other martial art for self defense. Sure, knowing how to fight will help you in general, but focusing on things like defending against weapons or multiple attackers puts both a cut above the rest. I have a black belt in kick boxing and honestly thought that I was pretty good with just that. Started to train with a Russian friend of mine who was willing to teach me Military Sambo and it became almost instantly that my years of training and semi-pro fights where no where near enough. Having  just about every strike blocked and countered often in the same movement was a real eye opener.  Thankfully the training saved my life as well. Worked at a gas station overnights. Guy came in with a hunting knife and robbed the place Don't know why but he tried to stab me several times after I gave him the money. I ended up needing 14 stitches in my left forearm and another eight on my left thigh. If I honestly didn't know how to defend myself  against a knife. He probably would have killed me.

...and martial don't do that? lol, let me guess. It's all fancy moves, and breaking fake wood. my... how have they survived for hundreds of years.

lol your point? if you want to say that krav maga and sambo are the most effective, that's your opinion. I just disagree with it.

You can agree to disagree with out trying to throw it in my face you know

Augh, that is so completely unacceptable.

Seriously though, we can punch Solas and Dorian, but not Vivienne all because she's a lady?

I'm interested to know if anyone has actually not recruited a companion and fared well during combat.

Oh yeah, 5 playthroughs in an I've so far not recruited Sera for one playthrough, exiled Blackwall, rejected Cole, and not recruited Iron Bull respectively.

I mean, you have 9 companions, and only 4 slots so I figure for Story reasons sometimes it makes sense to reject people.

eh you know what, don't worry about it. All the crap that has been said over my time on these forums and some of the stupid pm's I have received from people who want to start an argument over every little thing have pretty much reminded my why I chose to avoid interacting with people on message boards or in chat for so many years. I'm just going to wait tell my 7 days of no posting is up and be done with all of this. Its not really worth it and has reminded my why I prefer living in almost complete solitude.

*EDI voice* I see. I have only been tempted to not recruit Blackwall. I hear the banter between him and Sera is golden. but I think I have the banter bug because I never hear any of it. that evil playthrough I watched on YT earlier also proves that the companions do shout things during combat but i've never heard it once in any of my playthroughs.

I learned my lesson and regretted it half-way through! But Acantha wanted to create a reputable organization, and she thought that Sera was too unstable!
