Much as those figures are encouraging, I'd like to know the definition of "gamer" that was used in compiling them. I suspect that they mean anyone who plays any sort of game on any sort of computer...
Well, I think I once met someone retired who played flight sims...
Age over 30 is not an exception in that genre.

Pretty much "comparing e-peens" is an accurate description of every internet argument.
It works for me but I'll put the definition under a spoiler tag.Does the link work for you?

Those surveys normally include mobile, puzzle and various flavors of casual game if that's what you're getting at, yes. At least the others I've seen with similar results did.
Personally I hate the term gamer.
Okay, cool re: Xil. I noticed she did come and go, but I felt like she came and went more frequently.
And yeah,y'all are right that she seemed really upset with the game in general, so maybe she's just gone for the foreseeable future now. Darn, I was really enjoying watching her parse through her attraction to Sera despite Sera's views on elves.
It was kind of beautiful to watch.

I'm not so keen on it myself, these days...

Oh, it's like every other hobby ever. Some people are completely into games and look down on the 'casuals'. You can observe the same phenomenon with movies, music, literature, etc.
It's just another form of snobbery.
I'd say "You filthy casuals!" but typing removes the fancy bit called tone from conversation...
You know, the one that tells you someone's joking the moment you hear it...

It's not even so much that, as, well, stuff that has had the word "gamer" attached to it recently...
I remember seeing somewhere that mobile games were counted as well so that could explain the number of female gamers being that high.
I'm pretty sure (as in I remember, but don't remember where I saw it) that mobile games have something quite close to gender parity inside their own market, so that's not where the women are coming from in greater gaming. There are differences between different games, genres and platforms though, it's just not straightforward.
Or I'm completely wrong.
It's not even so much that, as, well, stuff that has had the word "gamer" attached to it recently...
Oh yeah, I know. Still, it's not like other forms of entertainment haven't had similar nonsense attached to them.

For sure. I've mentioned before that my other hobby is photography. There's all sorts of similar silliness there: People who think that having several thousand pounds' worth of equipment makes you a good photographer, people arguing ad infinitum as to which system is best, and those who just get on with taking photos... ![]()
Does anyone know much about a crusade!? I have to do an info graphic and I want it to be about a crusade but I'm no expert. I want to know if it's possible to summarise it into digestible info within three weeks.

Some of the best photographers nowadays utilise compact cameras. You can get some really interesting photos using those and they cost next to nothing.
You rang?
Which Crusade?
Any.
Edit:
If you could summarise some of it, it would be really helpful. I need to know that there are some actual figures, digits, timelines etc. that can be easily represented.
As in the medieval wars to reclaim "the holy land" for Christianity?Does anyone know much about a crusade!? I have to do an info graphic and I want it to be about a crusade but I'm no expert. I want to know if it's possible to summarise it into digestible info within three weeks.

You have to be more spesific here.... The crusades to the middle east? The baltic crusades? Other crusades? So many of them! O_O
Plus levels of brand fanboyism that rival anything that gamers produce. Personally I take the same approach to both: Get the gear that best fits your needs and budget and then get on with it...The eternal 'artist VS technician' dilemma.

I know, right? Dull old me getting out there and enjoying my hobby...

....Besides, every photographer knows that it's the light and composition that make the shot. Gear just provide extra tools for spesific situations
