I just meant for his melee set. I'm sure there would be circumstances were he'd need to switch from ranged to melee. Bianca of course would his primary.
True, it gives him more utility. Though didn't Bianca have a bayonet?

Yea, but that feature was useless. Enemies got into melee range with Varric, best option was to switch over to him and run the hell away.
Ah, okay. Gracias.
So far, it appears there has been confirmation for Varric, Cassandra, Vivenne, Solas, and Iron Bull. Just four companions left, one of which should be 'Sera'.
Don't forget the bearded Gray Warden. He's been seen in the Game Informer video just like Sera was.
I feel I'm gonna like her and I find myself very interested in her and wanting to know more. If she's an LI, I'll definitely romance her.
While I like Varric being able to use daggers, having him use them for anything other than emergencies seems wrong. Varric not using Bianca is like peanut butter without jelly.
funny enough this is my first reaction as well.. I mean Varric not useing Bianca.. she needs to be sick or something for her not to be in a fight.... ooo.... an idea for a quest.... considering the "maker" of Bianca is now dead... maybe a quest to help "heal" her so we have a chance to get to know Bianca and what she means to Varric.

I felt the same way. So far, she's the first companion I've seen so far that I'd want to try as an LI. Well, provided Varric isn't one. ![]()
I'm glad we can switch things around for companion weapons. The Gamestar article did reveal that one of the companions is an archer, and some (including me) have suspected Sera. If that's the case, then she'll have to go dual-wield if the archer trees don't suck. I loved them in Origins, but they were awful in DA2. I used the dev console in order to snag the good parts of Seb's tree just to be viable.
I have a feeling she's going to come off too much like the honorary bratty little sister for me to be interested in her romantically.

I felt the same way about Merrill, minus the bratty part. So I can understand that. Sera just looks interesting to me so far.
I'm judging a lot from a picture and some very old information, I know. ![]()
Please be pretty and not bald.
Please be pretty and not bald.
As you can clearly see by the picture, Sera has a ponytail. I doubt they'll change that. There is earlier concept art of her with a shaved head and a mohawk-type ponytail, but it appears to have changed since then.
Sheesh, one character with male pattern baldness and one character that shaves her head to wear those stupid hats and now everyone's up in arms about bald characters in Inquisition. I guess so many men and women find Patrick Stewart ugly because of his baldness, right? ![]()
That whole hang-up is going to look incredibly juvenile once the game comes out. It rather looks juvenile already.

While I agree with you, in their defense, we only have 5 confirmed companions (not counting Sera or the Grey Warden) and 3 of them are bald and one of the others has pretty short hair. However, once the rest get announced, if people are still complaining (which I'm sure some will), then it will be ridiculous.
Appearance is a big part of the character. I don't like girls with bold heads(except its Jack) and giant chin. Thats all.
I'm sure all of them will be great characters though.
Cass is attractive with short hair...
it isn't blue but it will do ![]()
That Rhymed...
I want to see only Sera and others when i play the game. But i want those followers friday to feature Sera. Others can wait till i command them to bring me wine.

where did the giant chin come lolo
maybe Sera doesn't like judgmental men? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I want to see her outfit, I really like it so far.
I'm really digging the alternative (or rather, non-traditional) looks for the women.
Vivienne is bald. Cassandra has short hair. Sera has.....blonde hair, which is surprisingly uncommon for women in BioWare games.
The bald thing has seeped into this thread as well I see. They should have kept with the theme and given Sera hair like this:
Well thats something.
where did the giant chin come lolo
thats about cassandra lolo
maybe Sera doesn't like judgmental men? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
who cares what she likes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And it was his choice to follow Inquisitors orders instead of going to save the village regardless. Need to take responsibility for your actions.
