I don't torrent either, I stream. I pay for about 60% on my movies and the others I watch online.

That is another thing she has in common with Vivienne. They both want the world to go back to what it was because they had found a way to use the system that worked for them. They are both scared of change, and interestingly their fears in the Fade are similar : the nothing (Sera) and irrelevance (Vivienne).

 

The crucial difference is that Sera's fear is that of having nothing around her. Vivienne is afraid of being the nothingness.

 

That's quite an interesting way to put it and I'd have to agree with looking at it that way. I've given Sera's reactionary tendencies (even if benevolent) some leeway given what I think is her background and her age however I have wondered if I am unfair to Vivienne given I don't exactly know how old she is or how experienced she really is despite her bravado.

 

I do hold out more hope for Sera that she can be shaped by further contact with the world and with the experience of working for a bigger picture rather than her own amusements.

On the micro scale, helping people in small ways, maybe she actually feels like she has more power, more ability to do something, than all the kingdoms in the world posturing and changing little.

 

The other thing I like about that is that it's the level most people work at. Most people don't have big hats, and even the people with big hats don't often make choices as clear cut as 'pick who gets to rule Orlais' - maybe they'll bomb Hitler or shank Caesar, and that probably isn't what made them an interesting person.

 

Sera is the only person in a BioWare game I can immediately think of feels person sized. She has a small sphere of influence, and she's scared of things. Magic terrifies her, in a world that is built on fear of magic she's the first person who has a real fear of magic. Though she does still have that indifference to violence video game characters are usually guilty of.

I was just reading the thread on favorite inner circle quests and I got to thinking most of the companions have approval fetch quests and really Sera has one also but they don't call it that. Sera's approval quest is really Harding flirts, which is the best fetch quest ever!

 

I don't think I've ever gotten this quest and I've wanted to flirt with Harding badly from the first playthrough.  What triggers it if I may ask?

I've been known to... search for... shows and movies that are not available in this region and never will be. Fansubs and all that. But if something is in theaters here that I want to see, I pretty much just wait until it's available some other way... at which time my interest has probably moved on to something else because-- Oh look, shiny.

I don't think so. I mean, to torrent I would be downloading the file to keep, streaming isn't permanent and I usually go to the company's website. Like Much Music hosts Degrassi streaming, so I'm pretty sure it's legal.

For one thing, some zones you get a romance harding option when you first go there and she talks to you. I got several big Sera approves that way.

Ah yes I'd noticed the flirt options. I can't use them this time as I am already locked into a romance with Sera and I am sure she will not approve if I flirt with Harding now.

...And the industry oxygen thieves wonder why media piracy is still rampant. When they stop doing crap like this, then they earn the right to complain. Till then, frell them. And this from someone who actually buys/streams/goes to the theaters to see stuff I haven't blacklisted due to crap like above.

Also, squat jumps. They suck. Legs feel like they are made of jello now >.<
