there's a folk etymology that can't be disproven that claims that the Greeks used the word because they were imitating foreigners talking

so to a Greek a foreigner would sound like bar bar bar, hence the name barbarian

it's a folk etymology like I said but there's no reason to disbelieve it

originally fwiw I made the joke a lot more stupidly complicated by referencing a kpop song and that probably would've made it worse huh haha

Addie! Long time no see! And how many times have you changed avis this week? I'm having trouble keeping up! This one is very nice though. Little red fox. 

 

A lady Dwarf? Josie is not bad for Dwarves, but I think she is sweetest with Elves (she gets so defensive of us!).

Dwarves with Sera are always good. If you want to consider the gents: then you'd also have Bull or Blackwall.

I'm hyper on sleep deprivation! but I got no other classes to babysit or attend for the day which is nice because apparently it's supposed to morph into a rain and freezing rain and snow nightmare in a few hours!

so I will be spending the evening getting wasted at HOME instead of getting wasted SOMEPLACE WITH TOO MANY OBNOXIOUS UNDERGRADS
