Really the skirt is more decoration. If skaters and dancers could get away with it, they'd the wear the leotard with no skirt.

okay. let me break this down so it can forever and consistently be BROKE. This is about MY comfort level. I'm not forcing anything on anybody. I speak for MYSELF. I addressed that issue as I saw fit so I didn't have to see it. Don't cherry pick my words to stand on a soapbox man. My words are my own. Didn't I type that in my posts? Because i'm pretty sure I was sitting here when I typed that. I am in no way trying to change anything or anyone.

As for that feedback, it has been given on multiple occasions. When I saw no change in his behavior, I muted him for MYSELF. How you guys chose to deal with it or not is up to you and I'm not judging you. I will judge you if you keep trying to paint me as the villain though because I deemed it unacceptable and adjusted according to my personal comfort level. This is sincerely the last time I am saying anything about this here or elsewhere. Kasumi out cuh. on this topic at least.

I thought the writing on that was too unfocused and it was hard to care about the characters. I did like 2 even though it was over-the-top at times but I don't mind gore as long as I can enjoy the story.

It's the shortened form of spandex panties. It just sounds awful when you say the whole name. So spankies. 

 

I think I am genuinely completely crazy, but whenever I hear the word "spandex", I immediately think of it as an insult for Vanu Sovereignty...

(To clarify, as a New Conglomerate trooper, I sorta hate the friggin' spandex - that's literally what their uniforms are - so bad that I employ a no mercy policy when encountering Spandex. There is actually a derogative term for bad Vanu players - "Spandex Reserve")

There were also nazi doctors, serial killers, insane bigotry...it was really the writers throwing the kitchen sink of horror tropes into the pot. But I enjoyed the crazy ride. I liked the recent season a lot too.

That's fair, and that's how I think it should be, but when someone has trouble with boundaries and needs them pointed out?

You defend your boundaries or you don't. But they are your boundaries, not mine or anyone elses and are no basis to form rules on. Ultimately, the ignore function exists for a reason when someone doesn't get the message.
 

You were thinking of others when posting. That's what's being asked for here. Consideration of others, not a specifically mandated set of edicts. If you get no feedback on what you say, how do you learn?

I think of the thread as a whole, not the feelings of its individual posters, when I consider what I post. There's a difference.
The goddamn safewords were not asking for consideration, they were a blatant attempt to control speech beyond the forum rules. Based on individual perceptions of what is acceptable or not.
As for how to educate someone, I address it above. I have nothing more to add to it.

Vanu get an exploding plasma-orb man portable LMG...

Terran Republic gets a friggin' MINIGUN...

And the NC get a SHOTGUN. A nice one, true, but still a SHOTGUN!

The idea is meant to be that Vanu is pew-pew-lazorz, TR is "Just throw a lot of lead down range, some of it will stick" and NC is "You don't need rate of fire if your gun acts hits like a nuke"... So, Vanu get a BOOM BOOM BOOM, TR gets a Minigun, and NC don't get a heavy rifle that kicks some real butt, but a shotgun.

 

At the end of the day, they try to emphasize that a bit (NC SMGs are slow-firing, but hard hitting, we are the only faction to START OUT with a bolt-action sniper rifle while others need to buy it, and our starting LMG is pretty much the rough equal of a man portable fifty cal) but still sorta fail.

 

Rocket launchers also got us dumped. Vanu gets a lazor rocket launchery weapon that can charge up, TR get a launcher with many lighter projectiles to salvo launch... NC get a camera-guided missile that turns like an Airbus, and flies about as fast and far as a piece of paper.

I think maybe we did go overboard with the safewords, but they were supposed to be a fun way to point out we were feeling uncomfortable. It wasn't supposed to become such a big thing; it snowballed out of control.

 

Ultimately, it's difficult when you like a majority of someone's posts but often feeling uncomfortable with the things they post. It's not always easy to know how to handle the situation.
