I wasn't just talking about the appearance of eyeliner (aka raccoon eyes) though.  I was referring to how Cass looked just like she was wearing dark grey eyeshadow and very dark lipstick.  I know that part of it was the engine that they used for DA2, but it always threw me off.

Ahh, I see. Yeah, to me it always seemed like the lip colour is just a byproduct of darker skin tone and/or shading (you can see her lips also appearing pretty dark in DAI when the light is behind her, kinda the same thing) so I never got the impression she'd be wearing lipstick there. The first few times, it did make me go, "Oh great, how am I supposed to take her seriously with all this makeup."  After I joined the forums, and find out about the strange and unexpected things various game engines do to shadows, it doesn't bother me as much anymore.  I've seen enough art of her that I know that wasn't what the art team intended.  Just like Varric having red eyes in one of the old trailer screenshots was just an oddity of the engine.  I've gotta say, Frostbite so far seems to be really doing her justice.  She looks much more like I would picture a lovely and seasoned veteran to look.

 

Going back to Sera, and speaking of fashion, ect...I keep imagining Sera protesting so hard if, say, she had to wear a dress for a ball. 

 

 

Vivienne: Hmm, I think this dress would compliment your eyes, dear.   Your hair...goodness.  Well, I've worked with worse, so this isn't as hopeless at it first appears.  Now, as far as the mask, I was thinking of a gazelle theme, since the browns and golds would bring out your natural colors...

Vivienne: Be grateful dear.  It isn't every day that a person of zero fashion sense has me as an expert on hand.  For once, you might actually be acceptable enough for public.  Now, about that dress, do you prefer pink?  Or perhaps baby blue?

How do you anticipate your elven Inquisitor handling Vivienne's invitation to a party thrown in your honor? I'm guessing it's going to be very Orlesian. And if you recruit Sera before then (given what I've heard about her not liking nobles and her likely presence in Orlais), I wonder how she would handle it (if you bring her along, assuming you attend).

If I had the choice, my outfit would be inspired by Fen'Harel; wolf imagery everywhere, though I'd prefer not to wear a mask because I want to show off my vallaslin (the complex Elgar'nan one, so it covers half my face). It's up to any of the Orlesian nobles who bothered to learn anything about Dalish theology to interpret the meaning of that. As for Sera... well, it's unlikely that the romance would begin before then, because my preference there would be to bribe her with later favors in exchange for being on good behavior, but if that's not an option, I'd try to aim for at least trying to ensure that her dress would be designed to be comfortable.

To my knowledge, no, but there are some pretty solid fan guesses.

Ah, so the reason Sera doesn't talk to Vivienne is that she's typically tied and gagged in her presence.

if you take in fen'harrel's(sp) mask in redemption, you have an idea what his would look like. i've used it as a base for felassan's blood writing in my craptacular fan art

I honestly like DAI Cassandra far more then DA2 Cassandra.
Though to be fair, I dislike most of the faces in DA2.

DA2's engine wasn't nearly as mature as Frostbite. Despite this, I thought they did a decent job with the faces, like Isabela, Merill, and Fenris, to name a few.

 

It's safe to say everyone will look quite different in DA:I thanks to the new engine. Whether they look better or worse though is a matter of personal opinion.

The thing you should keep in mind about the Vallaslin is that Bioware updated the images in DA 2 so now there's more designs than would be accounted for from an analysis of the DOA options (as impressive as they are). They might not even all be representations of the Dalish Gods.

I can kind of see the kinds of armor upgrades other companions will get, but I'm having a hard time imagining what kinds of upgrades Sera could get. Will be interesting to see.

Considering Sera's character kit description, I don't think she'd really ever change her base outfit...maybe add on to that look?

I've never seen anyone who backed her up on depersonalizing and attacking Cole.

*raises hand* I did, Cole is a fictional character so her depersonalizing him doesn't offend me at all
