I... do as well. I mean I'd rather they just made a good new game, but Origins is the game were they really nailed their storytelling.
Well graphics anyway, gameplay still isn't anything like what I want, but it'll do.
I felt that Origins had somewhat uneven storytelling. For example, Ostagar was kind of shoddy, unless you want to believe that every single major figure involved on the Fereldan side - Duncan, Cailan, Loghain, Alistair, the Hero - was an idiot.
Hmm, I see my post was unintentionally unrestrained in its positivity. I think Origins is the game were the main plot actually worked, it's simple but engaging and allows for more interesting other things. It's also the only BioWare game were I feel the main character gets a character arc, or at least can if you play it a certain way - unless you count Revan.
Ostagar is kind of hilarious as far as depictions of battles go. I think basically everything between the end of the origin and after Lothering kind of suffers trying to tie in all the key plot points though.
Strangely what I like miss from Origins looking back is the atmosphere, and I'm not sure why that is. It had something the sequels don't.
