That's why you go straight to Vendetta or Assassinate. Man I miss playing as Rogue Hawke.

i remember this awsomeNo one has any love for good ol' Buck Rogers, then? You young whipper-snappers. (Actually it was pretty crap, although I did like the starfighters...)
I actually had a toy one. It shot little plastic pellets...
thats why i hate the ai XDI can understand why they did it but it still sucks. But you know what really sucks? The AI is better at using melee rogues to kill you than they are to help you. Templar rogues would be awesome. Mage acts up? Hidden Blades! Fail your Harrowing? Hidden Blades! Templars acting up? Hidden Blades! Another Tabris, cool. I always liked mine as snarky Duelist but to each their own.

Am I on your pedigree of the Tabris family?
its AOE i dont need to aim XD
But how do you know where I am, so the AoE hits me, huh...?
Face it, the moment I do Twin Fangs followed up by an upgraded Flank Attack, you're pretty much dead AND STILL don't have a clue where I am.
Not to mention that coming right up, Flask of Fire-ing and then proceeding to undo you with Deathblow is a decent finisher.

Sure. City Elf FTW!
I've actually been playing a melee Tempest. It's quite weird playing without Stealth but once I got the hang of it, it's a lot of fun although Thousand Cuts does seem weaker with daggers for some odd reason.

See, I originally wanted to do a Dalish Elf, and only play the City Elf Origin story, dropping out of the game the moment I reacher Ostagar. Instead, I stuck with it.
I created "The Dalish Warden Who Never Was" in the Keep, though, along with a completely fictional (not even planned...) Hawke.
And yeah, Melee Tempest is awesome. For some reason, I just think that Flask of Lightning is better used by an AI than player-controlled character. Could be a placebo, but I think it gives more DPS that way.

Yeah, I'm still not sure which one I like more out of Assassin or Artificer. Tempest is fun too but I'm finding it's value rather dubious. Tis just me though.

Why go to all that trouble when you can just get Rogue Hawke to use upgraded Assassinate? Insta-kill, especially if you have a mage friend who can set you up with a freeze spell...Am I on your pedigree of the Tabris family?

No it is better used by AI.
Used by you, it slows down time. Used by the AI, it makes them attack really, really fast.

I do miss Assassinate.
Alternatively there was Shield Bash + Vendetta combo, nowhere near as strong but it worked on everything.

that was my Mahariel, snarky duelist/ranger, but also diplomatic when it made sense, but not afraid to tell people off. He's my favorite playthrough...but Tabris is probably my second favorite.
Pure heartache, pure pain, pure rage. He didn't romance anyone. pure badaxx

I find it a shame that when both Inky and Sera activate Flask of Lightning at same upgrade level, one still sees the other "sped up" instead of normal speed.
I mean, they both activate something that essentially, lore-wise, makes them move and attack VERY FAST, but they do not see each other moving at the same speed.

I tried doing a nomance but Morrigan derailed that plan.
Even tried to make a dwarf for Leliana but Zevran was just too awesome.

An odd one that.
I don't know any lore reasons behind it but Haste and Martyr practically broke DA2, so having anything that increased speed would likely do the same this time round.

What? What'd I do?
He's going to be my 7th playthough, continuously playing the same is exasperating.
Once I finish this playthrough (my third), I'm going to start in on my 'Epics'.
I will sketch out, starting with Origins, all three heroes, their views on the companions, their major choices, and how it will weave together. Then I'll go into Origins, play through, then DA2, then DA:I. I plan to do at least 8 of these, probably spread out over the next year, maybe year and half. ((think I love these games or what?)). I really lay them out to get a specific story and feel. I did this for a lot of play throughs in Origins, which I probably replayed a dozen times. Now I get to make it through a full Arc.
I have done this twice with Mass Effect as well, and I planned to do more, but sometimes ME1 just...drrraaaaaggggsss...
Anyways, to start with I'm going to go with my least played origins, dwarven. So my first probably be Dwarven Noble, Rogue Hawke, Human Mage Inquisitor.
So I sympathize with wanting to get the right feel and setup for a character..and wanting to do different playthroughs

He tried stealing my elf away from Morrigan. While Zev didn't quite succeed, he did come damn close and shut the door on Alistair.
And completely unrelated, I found this on youtube from the tavern bard herself:
