Argh, stupid hotfix making the game unplayable due to lag. The screen actually gives me motion sickness now because of the rocking pauses.

I was going to capture Suledin Keep last night, but even repairing the game didn't work. Hopefully things are better when I log-in tonight.

The fact this is true is scary on it's own.

We are all alone in the end.

Not me. I have multiple voices living in my head. I'm never alone.

Thing is, in a few years, maybe even in a couple of decades... I could very well have voices in my head.

I've generally had less lag or freezes since the latest patch and hotfix however there are still some weird glitches from time to time like I get a motion blur when I pan the camera sometimes (not every time though) and the other night the audio just dropped out in the middle of the hissing wastes and I had to restart. But in general things are better since the last patch and the Nvidia one for me (pc).

I think they still need to work on optimization. It's better than it was but should be better for those of us with rec specs.

I'm getting my PS4 here soon, was worried it would have problems from the update.  Then again, it can't be worse than the ps3 version I play now.

Did they update for the consoles yet?

I've not noticed a major performance difference from any of the patches (apart from the short-lived mess-up with the graphical settings.)

I haven't had any problems until now (except for my own computer being stupid, that wasn't BioWare). So it's so weird because I have everything up to date and my computer is running perfectly.

I know you haven't. I've got a 660ti (to be upgraded hopefully by the summer to a 970) but I've got an unlocked 3570k which was listed as good for "ultra" settings and yet I've had long loads, freezes, lag etc. I've got anti-aliasing off. Everything on high except for textures which are Ultra. Nividia says I've got the right settings for performance for my system and the game but there are those issues. They are better since the patch but they do pop up from time to time. I do turn off somethings like dropbox too before playing.

I have not played DA:I in nearly a week. Simply because of the directx crash that has pledged my play through since the opening cut scene. But, I have been playing DA  2 for the first time and enjoying it despite it's faults. I think once the directx crash has been fixed, I might start a new DA:I play through. Simply because I will have a better connection to the DA 2 cast in DA:I.

This kind of illustrates what I was saying to Kasumi yesterday. Three different PC players, three different configurations of PC, and three different experiences with the game... The joys of PC gaming.

Oh totally! Don't get me wrong. I can play for long stretches with zero issues. I'll go through 90 mins with nothing happening out of the ordinary and then enter a tomb for the screen to freeze for six seconds. Just little things. The load time issue is much improved though since the last patch. I could literally, before, go make toast and coffee and come back in time for a scene to load.

True, it's very hard to make it work for everyone.

It's just strange since I can normally play the game for 10-15 hour long stretches without anything going wrong and now... It's flashing during the black loading screen, the icon turns into a big flashing cartoon with a giant red ring around it, and insane lag when the game does finally load.

My loading times have always been about a minute and 30 seconds. Long enough to keep my phone out or have a book beside me, but nothing too aggravating.
