true but if it is degrading faster than its "ideal" lifespan it doesnt bode well.It's always important to keep in mind that modern manufacturing process for most electronics is engineered to give them a shorter life span than they would have had years ago. I have an eight track player that with no maintenance works like a champ and a "high quality" home stereo that the the lens is constantly getting stuck in place that I have had freaking thing is less than a year and a half.
My ps3 had the same issue.. and if the patterns the same its got 2-3 weeks depending how long its played
