I absolutely hate them too, but I look away and it's over in a few seconds. 

 

You could always get the live vaccine, inhaled through your nose. Unfortunately I'm not a candidate for those.

Or get a mother like mine..that doesnt believe in Pills since ya are born..and ya get so many needles...that it doesnt scare ya or feel a thing when ya get them

not intentionally... the doctors literally always have a smile on their face... especially this one lady... made passes at me while winced in pain and freaking out cause of the size of the needle. What kind of bedside manner is that

Even if you're not likely to get sick, by getting the flu shot you help protect the people around you who can't get shots either due to being too young, too frail, or allergic to the shots. It's called herd immunity. [/size]It helps keep the illness from getting out of hand. People not vaccinating is what's bringing back all these diseases that we'd almost eradicated like measles and polio.

 


People who are too feeble to get flu shots tend to be bedridden in the hospitals. At least over here. If you are judged fit to be released in the general population you are fit to take(or not take) the shot. I agree on vaccinating against the serious diseases but a flu is just a minor annoyance. Oh, I know it can lead to more serious diseases in the risk groups but that's why they are offered the vaccination for free (which they are free to decline) or, like I said before, they are already in a hospital ward.
The point here is that flu is not an issue I would consider going to the doctor or getting a shot for.

Well, I won't pretend to be a doctor or try to change your mind, but I will say I think you're doing your community a serious disservice. Especially if you take public transport.

Flu is an edge case, as it tends to be fatal only to the elderly and very young, and as discussed due to its high mutation rate it's tough to get a vaccine that is effective anyway. In Britain the vaccine is only offered as a matter of course to the elderly and those who are at risk in other ways.

 

As long as we're all agreed on the benefits of vaccination in general, then I'm happy. Anti-vaxxers do my head in.
