Yes, promises to someone in that circumstance. But I kept waiting for the actual text -- dialogue, her notes, anything -- to say more about what she believed would happen in the end that sounded convincing to me.

She was perfectly fine with Restoring the Glory of the Empire, rule of the powerful over the powerless and all that, until the moment when she realized that Coryphigula was going to betray her personally.

 

That seems rather self-absorbed. And I kept waiting to see if there would be something more than that.

because it meant he might not keep his promises to her, which meant promises that affected tevinter and tevinters slaves as a whole, which I'm sure involved freeing the slaves and other things she cared about. I'm sure t here are elements of being self absorbed or selfish in there as well.  I mean she is basically on a personal vendetta against the imperium, just framing it as something grander.

Well I get that he's lying to her but even as a slave she seems intelligent so as to grasp who Corycalla really is and what he's all about given what she should know of Tevinter's history. She just seems really foolish to me whatever her supposed intentions are.

by the way, In Your Heart Shall Burn was the last time i felt any sense of urgency in this game. I really caped for Haven in that one everytime i've played it. Saved every person that could be saved. Even that elementalist guy...though one time i was trying to save him and the got damn wood that was burning fell on him and killed him right as i was reviving him. That...that made me SO angry and sad simultaneously.

I find that urgency is something you have to push on yourself in this game.

 

That's why I do all the fade rifts, so that I can get 50-70 power in my early stages and then run Abyss/Halamshiral/Arbour Wilds in one shot. (Plus I just really like all the cinematics, lol.)
