Unless the rivalry undermines the friendship. It can in relationships like that and breakups in those kinds are the most painful and stormy. I'd rather see Sera with someone fully compatible with her and not a rival.

long as they arent "elfy" i think anyone is compatiable
I joked about Viv earlier but she is not compatible. Sera would never be able to accept Viv's social climbing and her air of indifference to the "little people."
Isabella would work better but she is selfish and it would be a see-saw there to get Izz to take to Sera's views. Both are powerful personalities so Sera would have to win that struggle.

I haven't read any of this but as the series has gone on I have less and less issues with the mods as it's becoming obvious that pretty much every important companion is going to be straight.
This is another issue that I feel needs to stop, people really need to get over the "important companion" thing especially when it's not even entirely true to justify a blantant double-standard
"Even"?? That one was actually completely valid point. I've met many people who were defending making established gay characters bi (or even straight) by stating that if the same is done to characters previously presented as straight then it's OK. They appear to be completely oblivious to the fact that straight people's situation is not the same as gay people's situation. There are no damaging myths delegitimizing straight sexuality, there is not really such thing as "heterophobia" and there are no "corrective" rapes on straight people to turn them gay.
And speaking of DAO, it had only 1 same-sex option of each gender while straight people had 2, and each of those same-sex options was also available to straight people, so I don't see any hypocrisy in saying that making Alistair and Morrigan same-sex options was fine.
No it's not a valid point and it is hypocrisy
Err... probably early days Izzy yes. But Izzy, if spending long time with Hawke (not romanced), gets less selfish.
Though i can't see Izzy and Sera together, probs just best friends.
The only one i can see Sera with, in personality terms is Dagna tbh.
She needs someone easy going, free spirited and someone who doesn't judge and is also kinda "air headed" like Sera. ![]()

I disagree...
Isabella DO care.....she is just Afraid of caring and screwing it up .
She let enslaved peoples run away at the risk of ruining a busness deal and have mobs running after her .
She also care and it show when she take Merril who is coming God know where under her wings . Come on....
A selfish person is self centered . And while bela give those vibes , its all a facade . Sure she love fun more then anyone else.....but there is a beating heart of caring under those bewbz *drooole*...........*ahem*....
I rest my case ya Honor ![]()

I don't think it's clear exactly what Sera's elfy tolerance is, she accepts Lavellan so long as a certain path is followed, but that's more about the limits of dynamic narrative than it is about Sera's Dalish dislike.
I think being an arrogant twit is the main thing that would wreck the romance.

I'd say Ariane, but that might just be because I like Ariane rather than it makes sense.

I think people's opinions and points are things you can present your side and discuss individual merits.
I think disregarding someone's point as invalid out of hand is disrespectful and lazy. I only speak for myself but I have to call out someone dismissing another person's point, especially in such a manner.
If you can't provide constructive discussion and be respectful of other points of view then you are going to get backlash from me and only end up angering people.

Nah, Sera actually likes Dagna.
She mentions it in her journal and that could imply there's something going on.
If Sera is not romanced she mentions her only. Otherwise, she'd still mention Dagna if she was in romance. ![]()

Well you argue passionately and I didn't say it wouldn't work at all. All I've argued is it would be chancy. But then it's hard to really pinpoint who would be good for Sera. Sardakaur is right that Sera's anti-elfyness is not very well defined narratively so that it is possible to romance her in game with a Dalish (I know cause I am doing it right now and successfully. Sera's even told me I am not "elfy").

Well my Qun Qun is the best for Sera ![]()
Muh..I leave the Elfish stuff to ya rakasha ![]()

Well it's hard to pinpoint what would be good for Sera. Hypothetical Lady Vashoth might be everything she wants but that wouldn't change her. A nice Dalish girl might allow her to grow to accept others more, but that assumes you (we?) think that needs to happen, or the Dalish are worth accepting and so on.

I plan a Qun romance for her at some point but my next game is a romance for Dorian. ![]()

I go back and forth on the Dalish but then there are factors about every faction in this game that I like or dislike.
I'm excited for my qunari romance with Sera. Hopefully the game works well this weekend!

Yeah. Deciding who would be good for Sera really depends on what you choose to define as good, and that can vary a lot depending on your point of view and how/if you'd like to see her change.

I haven't checked. Been busy, and I'm not home until midnight tonight.
