I think what has me always side-eyeing the Templars in DAI is that one note in the Hinterlands from that hunter. I just couldn't shake that image from my head and it absolutely disgusted me. I also don't like anyone who exists with an heir of entitlement that harms other people. That's what the Templars represent as a whole to me.

 

Yeah that disgusted me, and also a bit of banter in Haven about how they were abusing their power.

I mean, the EMP disable happens YEARS after the First Contact, right.

 

Didn't they KNOW Kaiju's had EMP capabilities, and, you know... PLAN FOR IT by shielding the Jaegers?

There was another push toward metric much later than this but it died also. I believe it was in the 90's, we have highways where I live that were designed and built in metric through the DoT I work for but the sign expense became a biggie again and everything was scrapped or so the story goes.

Edit: researched it all DoT's were supposed to be switched to metric by 2002 but it was canceled again.

 

Damn shame.  I suppose it is too late for Obama to make the effort and it seems to be a state issue. Honestly since most cars are sold here with KPH listed as well as MPH it won't be a big deal for me if I my state switches over. But that won't happen with our current governor.

Well they do say that it's the first time that they've seen that capability, and the Kaijus have been getting stronger with time, so that bit makes sense, especially as they probably thought that they were just big monsters up to that point...

Robotech is alright. Have not devoted enough time to it to really get into the series though.

Have not seen it yet. But I do love giant robots. Mechwarrior, Gundam and Getter Robo giant robot related stuff.

It's not going to win awards for originality, and it has some super-cheesy dialogue, but it's beautifully realised visually, and the action scenes are stupendous. Worth watching I think.
