Metric is way cool. But if we're complaining about American record keeping quirks I want to say that their way of writing down dates as month-day-year is hideous.

Agreed. I cannot make sense of that. Also given the horrific mish-mash of metric and imperial that we have in the UK I'm in no position to criticise the US for at least sticking to one system.

Honestly I'd watch it again if someone asked me to. Well someone who I actually wanted to spend time with anyway.

I just don't think it's great, or a film which lives up to the legacy it's based on.

Interestingly that's the reason I watched it. My wife said she wanted to. She's generally very tolerant of my sci-fi and fantasy obsession despite it not being her favourite thing and goes to see many movies with me that she probably wouldn't watch ordinarily. For some reason she really liked this one and yesterday she said that she wanted to see it again. I wasn't about to turn down such an opportunity.

I KNOW RIGHT

Date writing power rankings:

1. Day-Month-Year
2. Year-Day-Month
3. Month-Day-Year
4. Year-Month-Day

They are an actual thing we get examined on here in secondary school, the stuff of nightmares, followed by maths class.

Don't remind me. French and Latin are a dim memory at this point. A very bad dim memory. My French is basically grad school French now, which is "can you get through an academic article written in this language with dictionary assistance". I'd probably tube a verbal exam if I had to take one today.

If young boys were built like Sera they'd probably never go outside again.

(a crude joke but someone had to say it - doing my duty to comedy as usual)

(not that Sera is, uh, particularly ample or anything, but...)

(I'm just going to shut up now)

Whaaat? Sera's pretty well built, IMHO. But, yeah. Young boys definitely don't look like Sera.

Had another a-hole call her a man-girl, or something. I don't think the insult translates. Or maybe it does, and I just have no clue. That was on TeamSpeak.

Flak is  a kind of horribly inefficient way to bring down aircraft, at least at high altitude. The volume of fire is there to score any hits at all. As far as destructive power goes heavy artillery from the first is probably the better bet. Or you could turn the analogy around, given that allied bomber formations were often out trying to burn entire cities off the map.

Yeah, strategic bombers pretty much had nothing to fear. Well, they had, but... You get the idea.

Ground attackers, though, whole another story (such as the Typhoon, for example) - those pilots were supposedly much more afraid of FlaK than the Luftwaffle (pun intended)

lol Another cry baby romance thread has bit the dust. But it's only a matter of time before someone posts another one.

What was the topic this time? "SERA Y U NO STRAIGHT", "SERA Y U NO BI" or something else?

The entire thread descended into chaos and I did my part to push it that way. lol

What did you do?

Hmm. I don't think I did this before, right...

One of us! One of us! One of us!

LMAO!

Also eww maths, why u do dis thread? Feels like a recurrent nightmare of mine, well more so my school exam french orals is a recurrent nightmare. Those were sucky times. This sounds suggestive reading it back. But yeah french orals were horrible.

That reminds me of my own German in high school. Speaking was not much of a problem, as I've ears (and mouth) to pull half-acceptable accents out of my butt. Vocab, though...

My little personal hell.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying she's got nuthin'.  I'm just saying she's slim rather than the usual, uh, well-rounded glamour model shape that many look for.  This, I think, is where their "complaint" comes from.

I think it was the usual "Urgh, not enough romance options for males! (because I don't like Cass or Josie, so Bioware has failed me!)" thread.  Same predictable yotz.

Well, she IS an elf. They tend to be slighter than humans.

Other than that, they're all just trolling, me thinks.

Also, wow. They no like Cass? She's a romantic! (And so is Josie, sort of) I can see why they wouldn't like a Disney Princess, though. Maybe they already have diabetes...? Naw. Josie's a nice girl. Not that I'm ever going to romance her. Too much Sera in the way for me to do that...

She has a human body though, game asset wise.

The game models are all a bit odd, I'm not sure how useful it is to debate standards of beauty with them.

Short hair.

Yeah, so she has a body that is an "asset" meant for different race. Known fact. Doesn't mean ... meh, forget it.

And short hair is good looking.

It was another guy crying about the lack of romancable females. Probably because he couldn't bang Sera. As for what I did, posted a bunch of stupid gifs.

I would be open to talk about it like yourself. But, the problem is, this is the internet and a video game forum. A topic like that isn't going to attracted the most well mannered and mature people in the world.  So you are asking for trouble when you post one. It was kind of funny when the person who started the thread tried to clam everything down though, because his thread was descending into chaos. When it was bound to happen the moment he posted the thread.
