Indeed.
I'm trying to help one friend choose a food processor, and help another friend choose a wireless router. I know about... one of those things.
I don't think that there should be no mention of sexuality. I think it's definitely important that we find out a character's orientation. I just think it should be a secondary characteristic instead of front and centre.
I want to get to know them as a person - instead of as a lesbian or gay person.
I only get my flag out for special occasions

I'm a turrible gay. ![]()
I detect an "ity" - you're still not as rude as R2D2. They had to censor out EVERY SINGLE WORD R2D2 said.
Heehee. My coworkers are looking funny at me now, Serz. Thanks

Didn't know there were tiers of gay-ness

I think I'd fail if there was a pop quiz though.

Huh? There are requirements?
Damn. If being gay has requirements, what if being straight ALSO has requirements?
Ones that I do not even know about...?
I think I'd fail if there was a pop quiz though.
Now there are quizzes? What is this world coming to?

Why did I read that as "quizzies"?

Because we're BioWare geeks?
i have no flag either. But chile the gay is so strong in me i don't eben need it. i am the flag.
i find comfort in the fact that the flag also stimulates various chakras. small ting, small ting.
okay i was off to play that Temple of Dumat and got sidetracked in the feedback and suggestions area. i think i go there to make sure i'm not crazy for still seeing all these bugs that were allegedly fixed.
You aren't crazy. Now shoo to the temple!
Because we're BioWare geeks?
Sounds about right...
I don't have a flag either.
I lost my gay card. ![]()

The problem with representing sexuality in any kind of media is the fact that it is a thorny subject for a lot people and is regardless of sexual orientation. Some people will say that such a representation it to stereotypical, others will say it is a fair one, while other people will say it should have never been in the novel, game,tv show or movie in the first place. It is pretty much one of those situations where no matter what you do, you are going to catch flak for it. I'm just glad to see a company at least try to include such a touchy subject in a video game. Because not everyone in straight and it's high time people accept that. It's also high time that we start moving towards equal representation in the media and stop allowing the media to get away with their constant use of stereotyping.
I was glad to see Krim in the game and while it was a bit ham fisted, I was glad to see Dorian's personal quest. Because both did represent a step in the right direction.

Maybe Sera stole it ![]()

Agreed.
I also watch Pretty Little Liars and one of the girls is lesbian. And while I really dislike her (she's just really whiny and uber-innocent) I've gotten to know her as a person throughout the show and she doesn't feel at all like she was written as a lesbian to meet quota.

I forgot Varric lmao.
Yeah, he can't leave. Actually i don't remember any option that lead to him leaving.
Ah..... the day BW gives us a gay lady that is there for "story reasons", is the day i die.
I thought Varric can leave if you have low approval with him already and you choose to allow Hawke to stay in the Fade? No?
Alistair is funny. I wouldn't exactly trust him to... no, wait, I made him king, didn't I? With Anora to keep him under control while he kept her under watch.
Oh.
Gosh.
She was written as a person
Pretty much.
Other shows it feels like they just threw in a gay character who is over the top flamboyant and never bother to round them out as a person though. It's like gay=their whole personality.

That's why I'm glad both Sera and Dorian were written as a person/character
