You guise.

Link.

Opinions? Yay or nay?

Given the Google images link supplied underneath, yeah. There's a pretty strong resemblance.

I have no idea of her voice since I have no idea of who she really is. However I did note that the language in the link Orchid sent is Eastern European so if she is from that region of the world then it is not likely she could pull off the voice.

Exactly. I'd rather have Robyn Addison play her, looking a bit different, but the voice would do wonders for me.

If I really didn't like what they did to make her look more like Sera, I could close my eyes, and not be like "Wait, who's that person trying to speak just like Sera?"

Trust me, a lot of eastern europeans don't sound anything like Sera.

Voice, though.
Part of what makes Sera Sera is her voice.

Without her voice, bah. Who cares. I'm pretty sure they could put enough make-up on Robyn Addison to maker HER look somewhat close, and BAM, you've Sera's voice in.

Not really the point. Several ME characters had faces based on real people but not all used that person as a VA. The question is whether this model looks physically like Sera, and I'd say that she really does.

Well I hopped over to another thread for a bit and remembered why I don't do that very often.

Imo, there's no Miranda without Yvonne (nevermind the voice) or Samara without Rana McAnear (who was only face model), or Candice Neil (Jack). The voices aren't everything to me for reasons.

If there was a ME or DA movie with the same actresses who were facemodels for the character they play, would be perfect. IMO.

Though Morrigan has no face model as far as we know but Claudia Black would suit fine.

Weirdly curious as to what thread that is.

As for the model, yup I can see some likeness.

Well, yes. The woman does resemble Sera considerably.

For me, it's the voice. I can close my eyes, and I won't see the person looking different, but I will hear the voice. My imagination will do the rest.

VG movies are god awful in general, don't desire seeing a DA movie or ME one for that matter.

The only good video game movie is Wreck-It Ralph, which isn't actually based on the plot of a video game.

BioWare have already traded in this however by giving us books and films like Cassandra's Seeker flick. I agree if they made a movie of "Inquisition" I would not watch it because I've played it and I'd prefer my own tale that I made to some other person's vision. But films based on the characters set outside the specific game? Yeah why not? I may or may not watch it however. I did watch the Cassandra one when I had nothing going on one night and it was entertaining enough and some of it's plot was referenced when Inquisition was released.

* Now that I think about it this was the only film based on a video game I've ever seen.

I have to agree. I don't really like either games based on movies or movies based on games. For me the only exceptions usually arise when you make an entirely new story in the same universe, such as KotOR.

Never saw it. I really don't like to watch movies based on games and I only watched the Cassandra thing cause I just finished Origins and was getting the hype for this game. It wasn't bad but it was forgettable too.

That was good yup but like you said wasn't based on an actual game but gave winks to several well known characters. Ever see the Resident Evil movies, oh lawd so bad.

I think that DotS is probably the best kind of movie they could make - focusing on NPCs in a way that doesn't reflect the plot decisions the player might have made in the games. I also think that those sorts of movies are very hit and miss. DotS was okay if you're into that sort of thing; Paragon Lost, the James Vega vehicle, sucked. Not being about the main events and main characters of the games can be a really good thing in that you don't violate player canon, but it can also be a really bad thing in that you might just make something that not even the fans really care about.

Yes, I would agree with you. I'd rather they did this sort of thing outside of the games and maybe filled in a games character story with a tale that would not carry over too much into the next game but would merely be a way of fleshing out a character for diehards. I confess that I am sometimes lost in these forum threads as I have not read the Dragon Age comics or books (my own tastes tend towards history books or historical fiction and my reading lists reflect that)  so when people reference them in discussions I get a little lost. But then I can always hit the wiki and catch up if I really need to.
