Such randomness in this thread >> it so fits for a Sera thread though
btw some veggies are best raw. Raw turnips are a very common snack of mine when I can get my hands on them anyway.
I must confess, I have never eaten a turnip. So, I'll have to add them to my shopping list.

You are crazy. I could eat salads for lunch every day! Often when I go out I have entree salads for dinner.

Its a gamble with them sometimes tbh, but the good ones have a light mild sweet crisp taste to them. But sometimes they do have bitter spots around the outter layers after you peel them but I still really enjoy them.
I miss being able to have salads, they either get boiled eggs, yucky peppers, or too salty bacon thrown in over here and that kills the salad for me oh and olives too yuck!

Can't you just ask for a salad without any of those? Or make your own?

I've never had them raw, but turnips in stew are my favourite part of the dish. ![]()

I'm so picky about my salads, restaurants hate me. Haha.
No tomatoes, no red onion, no egg, no olives, etc. : p

When things like vegetables are in the house unless I'm told they are for me I'm generally not allowed to mess with them because they're being saved for some kind of new dish or a dish for someone else. Last time I made a salad I kid you not I got legit scolded cause the veggies were for the tenant in our house and not us, I felt slighlt bad but eh they had like two days to grab them ![]()

I've never had turnips in a stew before only baked or raw, but they sound like they'd be good in a stew.

Extra onions for me, I love them! But no olives, eggs, bacon bits, peppers, and no dressing. They seem to really like ignoring the dressing part or attempt to push me into getting dressing on the salad ![]()

Just tell them you are allergic. That will put a stop to any of that.

Oh man, if there are veggies in the fridge I am eating them. Label your veggies if you don't want me to eat them.
Turnips, rutabagas, and parsnips are the best base for a red wine stew. ![]()

Oh that sounds yummy
Never had a lettuce like that before it sound delicious.

I never even thought to try that. I will diffidently do that next time.

I am usually the same way until I started getting in trouble for gobbling all the veggies up.
Oh that sounds so good if I could get my hands on half of that I'd love to try my hands at it but cooking is not something I've had a lot of practice at.

No, that is so rude. If you say you're allergic it puts so much stress on the kitchen; they have to make sure that absolutely nothing cross-contaminates. Meaning they have to set up a whole new prep station, all because you said you were allergic to something you're not.
Promise me you won't do that.

Just say dressing on the side.

Oh please don't do that. Don't say you're allergic if you're not. It's a really serious offense.
Well they're just silly then.

Well, an area should be prepared anyway for something like that.

That's an offense?

...You are so missing the point. It puts so much extra stress on the kitchen. Do you even know what the procedure is in ensuring there's no cross-contamination? It's so labour intensive.
Not to mention a server is now responsible for your life, which is really cruel of you.

Ah I was not aware that happens then, I promise I'll only save it then if the server is being a super pushy jerk and won't take no dressing for an answer. I oddly have this same thing about steaks too even had a server tell me that I didn't want what I was asking and they'd get me something more suitable ![]()

mood.
What's the matter?

The best thing you can do when it comes to salads is try different types of lettuces. Far to many people eat nothing but iceberg or romaine lettuce. Once you do start trying different lettuce it becomes hard to eat iceberg or romaine.
