I don't hope everyone is bi. That'd be just a bit weird.
Well, not everyone is. There's Sera.

Yes, but it's just not very realistic if literally almost every member of the Inquisition is bisexual. The "everyone is bi" trope is silly.

I don't think anyone's ever asked for every single member of the inquisition to be bisexual. I've seen people(myself included) ask for maybe six people in the inquisition to be bisexual.
Six out of twelve out of however many thousands make up the whole of the organization isn't an unrealistic number.

As well as the Mother of All Whining for the "Straight Male Gamer." While I'm hoping for both ladies to be bi as well, this would not go over well with some of the folks that have flat out said, "Why should we get only two options to ourselves?"
I do know that DG and CO are going to take a lot of glee in shutting those folks down.
In any case, I do look forward to the next set of LI sexuality confirmations. As well as another LI announcement in general.
I would doubt that we would get both but it is fun to fantasize about. I'm looking forward to seeing more on Scribbles and more info on LI. One thing I don't understand is if Cullen and Cassandra are straight why wouldn't they announce it. It's rather evident that they will be available to straight people so why not announce it.

Of course, but we're not really taking the thousands of faceless mooks into account, we're focusing on the main characters. And I was more specifically reacting to Xil's comment earlier.
For the record, I'm perfectly fine with characters being bisexual, but making every character bi weakens the suspension of disbelief.

Yet every character isn't going to be bisexual, much less every companion, as is already proven by Sera and Dorian so...

I don't know; I can go call up four straight friends and five bisexual friends right now and go hang out(actually planning on doing that within the next half hour), it doesn't suspend my disbelief. We're just ten people hangin' out, saving the world from demons.

As long as both genders get an equal amount of options I'm happy.

Oh I give up, it's a fantasy game, who cares?
As long as both genders get an equal amount of options I'm happy.
There you go.
There's no good reason to single out sexual orientation in a fantasy game as unrealistic but not dragons and magic.
It's even perfectly possible that in Thedas most people are bisexual, even if most of them might end up in monogamous heterosexual relationships.

I just think it's a little weird to point to the one element of the game that is indisputably possible and say it's a strain on suspension of disbelief.
I hear you there.

As far as the bisexual options, I think they'll probably be announced at GaymerX which starts on the 11th. It would be a good time to reveal the rest of the non-hetero companions. So maybe we'll only have to wait a week or so.

I was hoping for the same, but pessimist me thinks they won't and will only discuss the ones revealed.
I wouldn't mind getting more info on Sera though.

Why is it silly?
Ursala Le Guin wrote a story about a group of humans who are androgynous for 24 days, and then for two days are male or female, technically meaning they're a race of hermaphordites. She managed to get herself a Hugo and a Nebula. Jacquline Carry published a novel about a fantasy world where everyone is bisexual and got herself a Locus award.
Speculative fiction has been playing with issues of sex, gender, identity, and society since the 1960s.

Making companions playersexual is dull and pointless and I'm glad it's not the case in DAI.

Man it seems like every time I came in here today expecting to lurk and watch people post about Sera I stumble into some awkward conversation about my sexuality.
Please don't call fictional characters being bisexual in a FANTASY game silly or unrealistic. It's a bit unsettling, insulting, and silly. There's dragons, giant green holes in the sky, and people who wear live song birds in their hair, but oh no bisexuals, that's just too much!

You can have bisexual characters who don't sleep or romance the PC.

Not that having fictional characters being bisexual is unrealistic but having fictional characters that are supposed to be real as possible(minus the different races) have their sexuality determined by the Protagonist is unrealistic and boring. Also, it makes the romances more dull and have less content.

It does have lots of bisexuals.
Are we really going to call Thedas the more realistic setting?
