No, I will mention that. Thanks for the advice. It's good advice.  ^_^

Fair warning, I dropped out of the first semester. Any advice I give may seem good, but may turn out crap.

It all depends on many factors, including how well your professor has slept that day.

He's in a good mood, and it is good advice. It's good to explain what you would do next. Gives them an understanding of what the final, professionally printed piece will look like.

Plus, a woman, saving the universe? It's a rare thing in games.

Every game I can name off the top of my head, it's badass DudeBro Space Marine #5789 saving the universe.

Not that I'm disputing the point but there are other examples out there. Shep is possibly the most straight up action heroy action hero though.

I agree that he was pretty flat in ME1, but I thought he improved in ME2 and was pretty damn good by ME3.

Sure, the consensus is he improved, I never used him 3 so I can't say. Shep is pretty flat to begin with and they both took a while stepping into the role, and sometimes the writing is just weird. "I should go."

Well, I guess I can't name many then.

I made the mistake of rolling a soldier Sheploo on my first ME playthrough, as I didn't really know what I was doing. I still enjoyed the game a lot, but my second PT as an adept Femshep that I'd designed myself felt like an improvement in every way.

I actually can't think of quite as many as I thought I could. More than Shepard though.

I like solider. Well I really like infiltrator, but the way magic assault rifles appear in cut-scenes made me tend to play soldier. The important thing is that you get a sniper rifle.

I just like the ability to toss people about like ragdolls with my magic powers. Stop judging me.

Because it's fun! Sniping has its pleasures, but a well placed singularity is a thing of joy.

well i dont make a opinion unless i truly think about it and i think alot.

But is it really that big? Doesnt everyone understand their preferences(genuinly asking)

you know it is more than just a preference. you called it a fetish. that is different. VASTLY different. understanding that and not trying to defend it and actively working to stop that (because it is a bad mentality)was where my compliment came from. So in that regard, it is kind of a big deal.

Engineer all the way. Ended up working out quite nicely in ME3 when they made classes weapon agnostic and switched to the weight system, so she could carry an N7 Valkyrie everywhere. Admittedly, Soldiers got screwed by weight...and by the nerf to Adrenaline Rush...but they were mega imba before so whatevs.

Same here. Wasn't a fan of those Avenger rifles appearing out of thin air in cutscenes.

The bizarre thing about the magic Avengers in ME3 is that it almost always gave you one even if you had another assault rifle equipped. In ME2, a Shepard with an AR just used the normal AR (with the sole exception of a single cutscene in Dossier: Archangel, when the gunship attacks). It's one of the few times when "they made it worse in the sequel" was a totally correct criticism to make.

Engineer all the way.

Engineer always confused me a bit lorewise. I'm not sure what their actual skill set is that isn't just equipment anyone can use.

I like the idea of a character whose skill is amazing tech skills, but I haven't found a game that really delivered on it, for me.

Probably the single best design decision BioWare has ever made.

DA really needs to steal that one.

For real.

BW always seems to have trouble getting cutscenes right. I still have no idea why they decided to omit helmets in cutscenes in Inquisition when literally all of the pre-release material showed the Inquisitor wearing a helmet in cinematics.

Yesterday a friend of mine posted to Facebook about how she's having fun playing FFII having called her character "Dude", because in her words: 'Everyone's all "Dude!" It's amazing. I recommend.'

It got me thinking about how that's always a problem in voiced BioWare games, and people have to refer to you by a surname and a title, and then I thought... "That's one reason that I like Sera's romance so much! She gives you nicknames!" Now obviously, the set of nicknames is the same for everyone, but the fact that she's referring to you by something other than a title or honorific does set her apart from everyone else who deals with you, and it does make the romance feel more personal, I think. Added to that, the Cabinet of Wonder Whose it Was gives them an opportunity to use your character's first name, so you get:

And:

2015-01-04_00386.jpg

Which may be little details but did add to the experience for me, contributing in a small way to the feeling of reality in the romance.

I wonder if that's partly what I'm missing from the Cassmance, so far...

Infiltrators rule the battlefield by being able to disappear into thin air at any moment they wish.

For real.

They were just trying to hide the face is all... Suddenly, it wasn't overly obvious if you were looking at a human, elf or dwarf (well, camera angles may tell you it's not a dwarf, but whatever, as there is still a slight ambiguity to the race, as if it was an Elf, there might simply be more armor on the arms and sh*t)

Yeah, that was super awesome.

Arianne ended up being Honey Tongue. Probably the best nickname by far...

Whenever I see a given name written in game where it is entered by the player and never spoken I always think of it as a text command which probably looks like <playercharacter.givenName> and that destroys the illusion. Which is one of the reasons I'd rather BioWare just gave us given names tied to Origin and gender like surnames are.

I agree about Sera's nicknames though. The best names are earned.

Well obviously if you think about it it's just a line of code - smoke and mirrors and the like - but you could say that about the whole game. None of it is real. and everything in the entire game has at its root something that someone has typed into a computer.

I over emphasized the technical, the illusion isn't present anywhere else. Your given name might as well not exist in the actual game, it's only a handful of secondary lore pieces were it gets mentioned. So when it turns up it reminds of how little it turns up - and the reason for that is because returning player entered strings can be handled in text but not by spoken audio.

I'm Vanguard all day. but i have played every class except Sentinel. Currently running an Adept for the first time. I do miss Biotic Charge but i wanted to get to play an Adept through all 3 games just because I never have. I'm lowkey an original Infiltrator player. Like my very first run in the series was that class. I do have love for it still...i mean...*cloaking*

I like Sera giving you nicknames...to me it means you have become special enough to her that she wants something to call you on her own...i usually do this IRL with my potential mate as well so quite endearing.

Well I guess I must be a glass half full guy... We both recognise the issue with voice acting but for me, rather than emphasise the problem, the use of text mitigates it at least in a small way, which improves rather than detracts from my experience.
