Chondromalacia and patellar tracking disorder.

 

In 9th grade we had to do hurdles in gym class. I cleared the hurdle, but landed 90 degrees on both my knee caps, causing them to slip. Now the muscles around my knees have to be strong enough to keep the cap in place otherwise it digs and grinds. Very painful. 

 

You just made my legs quiver in terror.  Or sympathy.  Or something.

To be fair it was more deduction than knowledge. I knew the concept of a coefficient of friction and that Greek letters are used for such things. If you'd simply asked me to name the Greek letter used to denote the coefficient of friction I might have struggled...
