It's not about gating.
Just about RPing, then?

Reaver isn't the Warrior spec that Sera has concerns about.
Hmmm... so it may be templars she's worried about? That might be promising...

Templar? Can't really see where Champion would be an issue. Unless Champion is really "Chevalier" or something

My first thought was Necromancer. Perhaps Rift Mage. Probably Rift Mage, on second thought, given what Sera seems to think about demons/spirits/the tear in the Veil.
edit: realized you people were just talking about warrior specs. embarrassing.
Probably Templar then.
Good, because I never play Templar.

My first thought was any mage class, but Rift Mages the most.

I, amusingly enough, do, at least in Origins, and I've tried a playthrough of it in 2. I can RPwise justify the lyrium addiction with a Grey Warden, because my lifespan won't be long enough for the cumulative effects to really hurt me, but I doubt my Hawke would take it.

My bet is Champion, because you likely have to get it from a noble. I don't think Sera likes nobles.

I'll just pick whatever spec Cassandra doesn't have. For all I know, she's the Champion (or maybe companions don't start with one either?).

I thought there was a way to have the templar powers without using lyrium? Like Alistair in DA:O.

I'm sure she still likes their money and will accept that ![]()
Unless they changed Champion, it was all about inspiring and buffing allies in Origins. I don't think anyone in the party would have issues with that.

They have their own spec I believe.

That was retconned, actually.

Cool. Well, what I mean is, if she's Champ, I'll go Temp. Or vice versa. Not a big fan of Reaver though.. i'll let Bull take the cannibal job. heh
They changed it. Champion now is more about tanking . The buffing abilities likely remained with Battlemastet.I thought there was a way to have the templar powers without using lyrium? Like Alistair in DA:O.

Oh, then that explains it.
I suspect the Inquisitor might have to side with the Templars to some extent to gain that spec from them. Sera may not approve of what you have to do in order to gain it.

Companions have their own specializations.

I'd say tempLar-lyrium addiction is her spec issue, though Champion will likely have a Noble-related earning quest.
Ah okay, thanks.
I would say as long as you don't have to stomp on some peasants in order to gain the Champion spec from a noble, she'll be fine with it. That doesn't seem like a very 'Champion' thing to do. Unless you are the 'Champion' or rich people everywhere. But then again, tanking is seen as a selfless profession.
Well, possibly Cullen can Teach it to the PC. He should still possess templar abilities.Oh, then that explains it.

I guess we'll learn it in a similar way we learnt it in DAO.Ah okay, thanks.

I was wondering if Lukas could tell us Sera`s likes (apart from archery and thieving of course) and dislikes. Kind of like how Isabela used to like gambling and dirty literature! Has he told us that yet and I missed?

I thought that they wouldn't be taught by companions (or advisers I suppose)?
I think it could be more than just learning the Templar spec but becoming an official member of the order so it's not something that would involve Cullen.
With Sera, I was thinking she may have lost someone close to the Circle at some point in her life and this could be another reason she's not fond of Templars.
They just said companions. For example, since Dagna is an Artficier, I can see her reaching us the spec.I thought that they wouldn't be taught by companions (or advisers I suppose)?
