Same here. I was immediately put off by her sanctimonious attitude in DA:O( I'm a atheist ).
I'm an atheist as well and I have nothing against Leliana, I just found Morrigan and Zevran more interesting.
The latter I hadn't even intended to romance but he was too funny to leave behind.

it was the accent that got me dirty antivan... so many charmsI'm an atheist as well and I have nothing against Leliana, I just found Morrigan and Zevran more interesting.

I didn't like Leliana much at first in my first Origins PT, but she grew on me a lot. She's a layered character, she doesn't lay everything out for you and she's got some subtlety to her, which I like a lot. Plus she's hella cute. I'm agnostic but I don't mind people talking about their religious beliefs at all, in fact I generally enjoy it as long as they aren't invasive about my own.

Oh, you misunderstand. I'm not the type of person that would simply dislike someone because they believe in God. It had to do with her constant preaching etc, I get that enough from my family. I was initially put off by Leliana's religiosity, but I warmed to her more as I found out that she didn't mind contradicting Chantry teachings. I value independence of thought more than the actual conclusions someone reaches. Also the more her past was revealed, the more I liked her.

But Artificers are quite dependant on others. Assassins and Tempests are more capable of soloing.
Not at all.
Since Opportunity Knocks works off your own crits as well, an Artificer is perfectly capable of rolling solo since they can have insanely short cooldown times.
They also get access to, IMO, the best CC skill in the game (provided you have the right passives) in Elemental Mines.
I recommend trying one, it's a fun spec.

Yeah tbh at first Leliana reminded me of some suburban yuppie who went to India and "discovered" spirituality and won't stop telling you about the power of yoga or something. I mean I feel bad now that I thought that, because it's super simplistic and dumb, but it also still makes me laugh so.

I don't think she is a bad character and she did grow on me. But, when someone starts bringing up religious visions, I start looking for the door. I'm not religious and I do not label myself as atheist or agnostic(mostly because i hate labels in general). I do study Metaphysics though.
