re: Josie. I actually think it reads way better for female Quizzie just because...idk, the princess duel sh*t, only really works for me becuase it's a lady fighting for a lady, otherwise it's bland as heck, lmao, so I honestly tend to forget that she's a bisexual romance option sometimes, lmfao.

But yeah, it's...a combination of the arc being very flat to me and also Josie not getting a lot of fun little things, and not being a companion, etc...idk...it just doesn't make me want to do a full PT with her, although I did enjoy watching my friends Josiemance.

The best part of Josephine's romance is the beginning.

Leliana: You hurt her, you die.

*later*

Inquisitor: Leliana said to be nice to you.

Josephine: Oh she worries for nothing.

Inquisitor: This is a hint: take it!

Josephine: What?

I'm gonna make a Dwarf for Josie tomorrow. Wait! Is that a good combination?

Male Dwarf. Just to clarify. Not sure if it makes much of a difference. I only want to know if the scenes look "good."

Give me a character with some depth any day and make the character complex enough they can't be read like an open book or summed up in three sentences or less. The issue isn't that Sera is a joke character. The issue is all the simpletons who want everything handed to them and refuse to invest any time into getting to know a character.

When I said 'joke character' I meant that it was the Devs pulling a joke on the players by giving her a fair bit of depth that many would not bother to explore. Their way of saying 'this is why you can't have nice things' or something like that.

Yea I can see that. I just hope that all of the simpleton rage ends up making us stuck with a bunch of one note characters in DA 4.

Oh not like dialogue or race wise. I know theres a scene where a human male picks her up and spins her. Does it look weird with a Dwarf?

Respectfully, Sera is one character who can be read like a book and who can be summed up in three sentences.  She's not a character who grows or develops as the inquisition progresses.  She stays the same.

Do you think that's why they made her and Vivienne OP as well?

It's not like it's the first time that Bioware has made a divisive character one of the strongest in gameplay.

Josie romance screams traditional male/female gender roles which is why I can't romance her.

It's possible. The flask of fire + thousand cuts combo is just ridiculous. Fitting that Sera is so eager to fight dragons. :D

Yeah, it feels that way to me too. That's why Sera and Cassandra are more fun for me. Even if Cassandra wants a big fluffy thing, she is by no means a traditional woman.

Hey I like the romance and I find nothing "traditional" about it!

Sorry I really did mean no offense.  I meant for you to tell me why you thought she was a character with depth and complexity (not just divisive.)  I'll sum her up in three sentences.  Little people are the best.  Nobles aren't.  Disagree with me about mythal and we're done.

BTW, I'm prepared to be wrong (most of my life is finding out I'm wrong.)  I came here to learn what makes a good character.

This is one of my biggest fears for the future. I really think sometimes it's better if developers stick to their vision and don't listen, overly, to fan bitchin'. I'd hate to get a bunch of toned-down, vanilla as hell, npc's in the future. I want them to go even more complex in future games and offer more romance options and more that are not binary or too standard. F*** this is fantasy, this is a whole different world, yet I see babies all the time whining for things to be "realistic" (whatever the hell that even means). I want a meaty story and some meaty, complex characters to go with it!
