I had no idea how many hours of DAI I've played, so I just looked... 355 hours.

No wonder I'm taking a break.

I made fried bean cakes yesterday with black beans, soybeans, rice, miso, garlic, spices etc... yum.

I should fry things more often.

Cheating especially seems necessary in Inquisition tbh like I know people play it on console and are happy, but....

I spent two hours farming stuff in the Cradle of Suledin or wev and still couldn't get a full schematic set for ONE character. And farming like that is essentially an exploit and it STILL didnt' work.

I have 500 hours on this game (probably a lot of it is leaving computer on over night on accicent with game running, but still) and I still never got the Arden Blossom as a drop. I added all that in with CheatEngine, and it wasn't even out of laziness, but because the game's gear drop system is so frustrating and poorly designed. And even when these things work, you have do the most tedious stuff to get it.

And crafting is one of my favorite parts of the game. before i started using CheatEngine, I did spend like 2 hours farming plaideweave one day. But it's ridiculous that you have to spend that much time farming cloth (and there are tons of cloth that have to be farmed, because they don't sell most cloth anwhere and it's not a repeating resource like metals or leathers).

i feel the pain

Eh, i don't see why is cheating a big deal. It's their own game, not yours... It doesn't affect you the slightest.

lol yeah I also hit the point where I just can't really play it right now, except for testing modding stuff.

I did just play Life is Strange, which was awesome. It's nice to be playing other games.

its a "moral" issue arised from the stigma of "enhacing already had skills". Cheating is considered bad most places. Thats my thought at least

It is a big deal in a multiplayer game that has pvp/coop, it's truly annoying to fight against (or with) someone who has GodMode turned on and is unkillable or something.

But in a single player game, yeah, it's not a problem I agree.

It's not really even cheating though, it's a SP videogame, there's no one to cheat besides yourself, and if you don't think you're cheating yourself out of anything, then what is it besides just altering the game, like modding, yaknow?

The problem I have is that some dudes (i'm sure ladies too but I mostly see some edgelord hardcore gamerbros doing this) are like YOU'RE CHEATING ME!! BECAUSE NOW MY AWESOME ACHIEVEMENTS ARE DEVALUED and Im like get a life. Get a hobby. Get over yourself. :P

They might have all the resources in the world but they don't have enough of the most important: time.  That's what I mean - they have to work with the 'resources' they have i.e. number of developers, number of testers, hours in the day, days till release.

That is true to a point. Let me give you an example of how a large chunk of major companies handle hardware and software roll outs by telling you about one of my many negative experiences doing QA work.

It's a real eye opener when you take a major issue to a supervisor, early into the QA process and simply get a canned response and nothing is ever done to correct the issue. For example, Comcast knew early on that the servers built to support the X1 cable boxes where no near up to snuff  with in the first few days of QA. Because the 50 QA agents they had at the time where having major issues with updating the alpha software on the box. Many of the boxes where unable to finish their first time setup as well. Simply because these servers couldn't handle all of the traffic. Comcast had built this server network as one of the networks that would be responsible for almost an entire region of their service network. This server network was also only going to handle the X1 cable boxes. Comcast made minor adjustments to the servers and nothing more. To this day Comcast has not fully corrected the problem. Comcast makes more than enough money to correct the issue. Has had a year and than some to correct the issue and has more than enough man-power to make the fix a quick and painless one. But, they won't. Because it would cut into the profits needed for their CEO's and above to make a six figure bonus every year. I found if kind of funny that shortly after Comcast gutted the non-contracted QA team, there upper management got a bonus increase.

Crap like that is really, really wide spread. I'm sure myself and my friends who have or are working qa could write books full of examples like that. It's one of those issues that if you are not directly involved, it's hard to get a scene of how big and wide spread it is. Because qa agents are bound by contract to keep their mouths closed and upper management/stock holders will not go public with things like that because they would be shooting themselves in the foot if they did.

Yeah it drives me crazy when people blame QA people. Their job is to test the software, not to fix it or even prioritize what gets fixed.

Well I was not that hungry before reading that. But, now I could eat a horse. Also you can't go wrong with bean cakes, baked or fried.

I've even gotten irritated at Keep stuff, because I was in the Beta for a long time, and I sent in requests like every damn day for things that never made it in (and I wasn't alone in this), and people on the forums are like LOL BLAME THE BETA TESTERS THEY GOT TO DECIDE WHAT WENT IN and I'm like...no...that's not...how...it works...

I mean I enjoyed doing the beta work, I hope to get into the patch 5 beta, I like doing that kind of stuff for fun because I enjoy trying to break things and figuring out where things aren't working lmao, but if that was my full time job and people were always snarking about it, I'd be soo freaking cranky about it.

If only more people thought of it that way. A lot of people don't understand that as a QA agent you have zero control over correcting issues and making improvements. All you can do is pass the information along and hope for the best. When issues pile up and major issues are ignored, it becomes maddening.
