If we must talk about deadly weapons then I do prefer swords to guns. So much more elegant, especially those Japanese ones that Alexia posted...

Oh you're Turkish? The Ottomans had fantastic swords and I really like their muskets/miquelets (so intricately and prettily engraved). I don't think they were crappy at all (at least for the initial period of Ottoman dominance-by the late 1600's probably but for a good two hundred years or so they were among the best)!

I always used to be more of a firearms kinda guy. Only recently have I taken any sort of interest in melee weaponry. Gotta say, swords are awesome, but still sort of... lacking againist anything but leather.

The only way you find a rifle lacking is againist an armored vehicle. And even then - you did not bring a big enough firearm.

Sadly not.  Sadly?  It's not like I need to cut anything with it, after all.  But I reckon you could still stab someone with it real good if you needed to.
