It's funny because I've always tended to associate elves with the wilderness. To hear that Sera isn't a fan is pretty surprising. On the other hand, it makes her all the more interesting. She must lead a 'different' life, so to speak.

I like it. It breaks the whole "All elves love woods" stereotype.

Edit: Though, yeah, we had Zevran and Fenris as well.

At this point, it's more like "no elves love woods." I'll need to do my part to bring the stereotype back.

I doubt there's much you can do, other then asking for more dalish.

I didn't mean to offend, just offering a perspective from someone that did have a baby face until she was about 30.  It's no fun getting straight up accused of being in high school and pulling out your driver's license to prove otherwise.

that's why i grew facial hair in late high school/early college actually

Then it's my responsibility to rectify that...

...and like, all the city elves in DA:O (including the one you could possibly play as).

I still have no idea why Sera's attitude is surprising.

I didn't know it'd be an actual dislike.

Like Xil said, it's apparently a dislike. Doubt Fenris or Zevran shared that sentiment.

I always had this thought that she'd be in love with fluffy bunnies that run around in the woods.

Yep, doesn't make much sense considering her weapon of choice. If she was just indifferent and preferred cities, that would be different story.

I think you are are taking a short comment a bit too seriously. From the way you're talking about it she sounds like an agoraphobic.

I just hope she doesn't frequently complain about 'being in nature' if I decide to bring her along. Kind of like Serana in Skyrim. She just constantly complained about the snow and the sunlight- granted she was a vampire, but it still got irritating.

I find Sera's voice to be.....kind of annoying in its tone based on what I've heard so far.  Also, I have a *very* difficult time with her accent, to the point where I literally can't understand what she is saying.

Take the driest sponge you can imagine, then imagine pouring a few drops of water on it and be surprised at how thoroughly they're absorbed. That's the fanbase with information right now.

Do you think most Dalish dislike living in cities?

Hugely, but there are cultural reasons for that.

Same here.

However, not the other way around. That is, I doubt many elves (city or dalish) dislike the woods in the same way that Sera apparently does.

To my knowledge, the city elves don't think that the woods will siphon away their life force.

No, they will typically dislike the woods because it's not the environment they are used to.  Elves don't have an innate desire to live a simple life in the woods.  City elves don't have an 'inner Dalish elf' to tap into.

Also, would the average Dalish be comfortable living in a huge, congested, elven city then?

In my experience, most people who live in a city wouldn't jump at the idea of living in the woods. Particularly in a pseudo-medieval setting where life is hard enough as it is. I mean, seriously, can't people imagine an urban girl being bored and uncomfortable in the countryside?

i know people who avoid cities and suburbs because they are too dirty and noisy,, preferring to camp out and visa versa.  most of the time it came from the environment they were raised in.

Sure, and the opposite also applies. I'm not sure how disliking the countryside makes someone a wimp.
