Sure, and the opposite also applies. I'm not sure how disliking the countryside makes someone a wimp.
ETA: Not directed at you, just a general statement.
i figured you weren't directing it at me, as i made no mention of wimps.

No, they will typically dislike the woods because it's not the environment they are used to. Elves don't have an innate desire to live a simple life in the woods. City elves don't have an 'inner Dalish elf' to tap into.
Also, would the average Dalish be comfortable living in a huge, congested, elven city then?
They don't exist, so it's hypothetical.
And if that trait would exist in so many companions that we've had who are city-born, why would it be mentioned specifically for Sera?

Because she likes drinking with a bunch of friends next to a warm fire as opposed to frolicking in the woods? Just guessing.

Those aren't mutually exclusive...

I didn't say they were...

Well, let's look at a hypothetical situation...if you can establish an independent elven nation with rural and urban areas, where do you think the elves who grew up Dalish would want to live? What about the ones that lived in a city their whole lives?
I would guess that most Dalish would dislike living in a city regardless of the presence of humans. If it's a human city, dislike might change to 'seething hatred'.
And if that trait would exist in so many companions that we've had who are city-born, why would it be mentioned specifically for Sera?
I don't know. I'm sure she has other things she dislikes. Lukas mentioning them might be too spoilery.
I would say Zevran feels similar but does still respect the Dalish.

I suppose you're right. I'm just... twitchy, and half-convinced that everything lesbian will go wrong because it always seems to. But it probably won't be enormously difficult to work something out... I just want the game to hurry up and get here, except not, because that'd mean it'd be all buggy and such, so I suppose what I really want is to go into hibernation until the game comes out.

I understand being concerned and all. You may end up really liking our other options (Josephine at this point) as well.
And hibernation would be nice...

I don't see much connection with Josephine yet, though...
As a result of this nature discussion today my mind played me a scene of Sera rather aggressively telling our inquisitor to remove all offending ferns from their bedroom.
Damn it, do we not have any F/F LIs who aren't hidebound homebodies?
Not really. First of all, she couldn't practise there. And the main purpose of learning archery was always to hunt animals (and defend oneself, but that came to play outside of the cities).
People in real life have preferences for where they live. Some like wide open nature and some like big cities. I don't see why elves in DA can't have preferences too.

Even if that's the case, elves don't live anywhere cool in cities. They're packed together in soul crushing ghettos, and no has invented a decent waste management system or deodorant yet.
hidehound homebuddies???Yes.Her name is 'Sera.'You can't practice archery in a city?I live in huge city, and right now I could step outside, get on the roof, and decimate the local pigeon population with a bow and arrow.
I just hope she doesn't frequently complain about 'being in nature' if I decide to bring her along. Kind of like Serana in Skyrim. She just constantly complained about the snow and the sunlight- granted she was a vampire, but it still got irritating.
I find Sera's voice to be.....kind of annoying in its tone based on what I've heard so far. Also, I have a *very* difficult time with her accent, to the point where I literally can't understand what she is saying.
yes Serana got irritating with her complaining.
Interesting I love Sera's accent and I have no trouble understanding it but I am British so I guess I would.

Wow, you're that good?
Also, I'm going to guess Sera's dislike of forests doesn't extend to wheat fields.

It's illegal for me to shoot even in my suburban area. Bastards.

Hawkeye say Hi
So, I realize this is a bit off the current pathway of discussion, but I'm watching the second video released from E3 and...
... and whoops I forgot I should probably spoiler this.

There are people who come from places like that IRL as well and still have a strong sense of hometown pride. Maybe she's making the best of being born into a crappy situation.

Been hanging out with Shale, haven't you?

Fair enough.
This makes me think of Sigrun now. She at least had no inclination to go back. And loved the smell of trees. Or even dirt for that matter.

I hadn't noticed this, but looking back on the video now and the bit of information we have of her, I could easily see that. I'm interested to find out more about her back-story to see if this is true.

Well now I want to see Sera and Shale (as a dwarf woman again) shipped together ![]()
