If you like flowers, shrubs and trees, the Butchart Gardens (British Columbia) are a great place to go!

Hey! There is nothing more deserving of my lucky 7! I consider myself very lucky to have been born in Canada. It's a beautiful country and one of the most open minded in the world!

If you ever find yourself in upstate Colorado, you should hike the Hanging Lake Trail and see Hanging Lake. Hanging Lake is amazing but the trail can be rough in spots. The hike is worth it though. The lake itself and the view are amazing. It's a really peaceful place as well. I spend many hours there during the spring and summer months. Because of the tree line and it's location, it does seem like the lake is simply hanging in the Glenwood Springs canyon with no real connections to the Colorado river. The water does continue down the side of the canyon into the Colorado, mostly through underground channels.

Talking of amazing train journeys, the Chihuahua Pacifico or ChePe railway is one of the most amazing things I've done in Mexico. It goes from the city of Chihuahua all the way to the Pacific coast. About half way through the journey, you can stop at the side of Copper Canyon, which is part of an amazing series of canyons, which, while not as long, are deeper in places that The Grand Canyon in the US. We stayed the night in a hotel in which each room has a view over the canyon. Incredible. After that, the train begins its descent through the Sierra Madre mountains to the coast. One of the most spectacular railway journeys in the world. I'll never forget it.
Sadly even when we went back in 2006, there were signs of the problems with drug traffickers and the government in the area, as a load of soldiers hopped on to ride on the edge of the locomotive for a while. It's got worse since then, although I don't think anything has ever happened on the railway itself.
I couldn't find a really good video of it, but this one is pretty decent.

Ah, hiking and mountain biking. Spring really needs to get here and quick. I love the cold and snow. But, I'm ready for spring. I'm also ready for the weather here in Colorado to stop being a freaking tease. One days it's 70 degrees and sunny. The next day it's snowing again. lol

This is a virtual tour of where we stayed in Churchill to see the Polar bears.

Really cool stuff. I always wanted to take a trip like that and polar bears are amazing animals. I'm a huge wild life fan and I would have had to resist the urge to jump off the truck and get closer than I should. lol

The whole ride in one direction basically takes the whole day, from early morning to evening, but what we did was break the journey each way by spending one night at Posada Barrancas right on the edge of the canyon on the way out, and one in Creel on the way back. If we did it again we'd make it a two night stop at each of those places, because we missed out on some cool excursions by not having a full day to explore.
This is the hotel where we stayed at Posada Barrancas. Highly recommended for the views if nothing else.
This was the view from our table at the restaurant at dinner...
The best part of the train journey is the stretch from Posada Barrancas down through the Sierra Madre mountains, which lasts a few hours. Just spectacular.
Argh, I hate Origin. So I downloaded ME2 last night and it was all fine until I tried to import Esri. Game couldn't find her. So I followed instructions and went into the Config program and showed it where to find my ME1 files.
Now Origin can't load ME2 at all. It thinks, syncs saves, and then just stops. So I tried a few fixes and still nothing. So tonight I have to uninstall, delete any leftover ME2 files, and download it all over again.

I'd have to split the trip up with a hotel stay. Especially when the hotel provides such an amazing view. Also, the simple truth is that I'm a a six foot four power lifter . Even a day trip in a train, car or plane gets really uncomfortable really quick. Especially when I really can't get up and move around through out the trip.

I would shoot the Origin team a support ticket or give them a call. Amazingly Origin customer service tends to be pretty good and they will work with you tell the issue is fixed. Better than Steam's customer service for sure.

Well at least in a train you can easily get up and walk around, and it can be a joy to go and lean out of the windows, watching the scenery go by. Definitely worth breaking up the trip, though.
I'm a huge wildlife fan and a chance too see the polar bears was just too much to resist, we've taken three incredible trips to see wildlife. This one, we went to Katmai National park in Alaska to see the grizzly bears at Brooks Falls and to Kenya for an African photo safari.

If you like wildlife, then vying with Chepe for coolest thing I've done in Mexico is seeing the Monarch butterfly sanctuary at Angangueo in Michoacán. So. Many. Butterflies.

Well, if you ever find yourself in upstate Colorado and in the Roaring Fork Valley, I can point you to spots where you will see wild life such as elk, deer, foxes and pretty much any other kind of forest wildlife you can think of. I'd just make sure bears are not coming down from the mountains when you visit. City law requires that all trashcans outside of your home are 100 bear proof and the fines for not having bear proof trashcans are nuts, nearly two thousand dollars per trashcan if they are not bear proof. Because bears can be seen wondering around town pretty frequently depending on the kind of winter we had. Really, its the kind of area where waking up to see elk and sometimes bears in your yard is pretty common.
ask for the gas... or just the numbing stuff. Its fun when your mouth is numb to the point you look like your drooling*sigh* dentists.

Ooh, when I was in Wales a few summers ago, we took a steam train up to Snowdonia which is just gorgeous. It's a huge crater at the top of a mountain.

Calling tech support is an absolute last resort. Read enough knowledge articles and I can almost always get it fixed on my own.
