That first cage,is that cullen, acting like a hamster?
Yes.
It is weird, yet funny.

I thought it was Anders.

Nicki Aycox from Supernatural reminds me a bit of Sera.
Aha. That must be it.
It's each to their own ya know.
I come from a small, rural town myself and I vastly prefer life in a urban city while I know people who hate the Urban city and vastly prefer the country. Preferences exist from your environment sure but it's possible to love what you're not used to. Clearly Sera isn't one of these people, she's used to the urban environment and would much rather be there.
I know I hate trudging about in the woods when I could be back into the city where I don't have to worry that the berries I just got will kill me or not.
I know it's each to their own. I still find it funny though. The length that people might say they prefer this, even when it comes to bad smells. That's something else. They're overriding their physical well being, in the name of nostalgia or aesthetics.

How are people overriding their physical well being?
The typical alienage is probably packed with people, trash, and sewage. And no medical care. I'd think if the smell doesn't get you, then you'd hold back the puke in your throat occassionally.
Everyone keeps thinking they're talking about their cozy little cities in the western world. When it's probably more like the worst section of Calcutta.
To say one prefers this to nature is funny to me. And they can go on and say it. I'll just find it amusing.

I am somewhat confused here.
Sera prefers urban life and dislikes the wilderness. Not all urban life occurs in the alienage. Most alienage elves would agree that there are better parts of the city that they'd rather live in, but then they'd be attacked or cut off from their community.
Not to mention that city elves would not have to live in a major metropolitan area. In pre-modern times, 80% of people lived in rural towns and villages. We know there were elves in Lothering, which suggests that elves follow the same demographic trends. Elves living in an alienage in a town of 10,000 would probably not have to worry about those hygiene and health issues you mention.
At least no more than anyone else living in a world with poor medicine and nutrition.
The elves in Lothering live with farm animals. That's the ugly side of nature, I suppose. Way too close for comfort.
I assume Sera is privileged if she gets to see the best parts of cities.

Especially since most elves get attacked, looted, and possibly lynched if they try to leave the alienage.

That's perfectly understandable.
Ultimately, what I find intriguing about all this is the possible implication that Sera possesses a wide range of interests that constitute what you might call an atypical posture for an elf. I've said before that I don't see Sera as being 'patriotic' or fully conforming to elven traditions, based purely on what little information we have of her. As we learn more about her, I start to think to myself that, at least to a certain extent, my original interpretation isn't entirely unwarranted... which is a good thing, as I tend to find characters that deviate from perceived norms particular to them or their respective race to be interesting and quite likeable, even if I'm continually surprised by the facts as I learn them.
I noticed that too. She said a certain phrase
SpoilerThis to me says that she's encountered demons pouring out of the fade before.
Earlier in the game, I'd expect, rather than as part of some complex demon-infested pre-Breach backstory.

Mind so deep in the gutter...Must not get banned >.< I'm sure Sera will find out the exact situation where tongue studs are both useful and desirable
I'd be all for that... it's a shame it couldn't be mentioned in dialogue, unless all female Vashoth Inquisitors have tongue studs.

There are things BW could learn from CDRED...But it's EA whose calling the shots and EA is a prude. But yeah, it would be awesome to have that customization option and have it mentioned. I know I have been in situations where I wish I had studs there, my jaw can only take so much....(Innuendo without any naughty words ftw
)
And there are many things that the the projekt could learn too, most notably how to include protagonists who aren't straight men.
