That sucks. Believe it or not I got arrested for punching the local vet a couple years ago. I had a Bengal Cat named Zeus he was like my kid. He came down with a respiratory infection and I took him to the vet four damn times. The pos vet said he had allergies and would be fine. A week after the fourth visit I woke up and found him curled up on top of my space heater dead. It destroyed me, so I drove down to the vets got into a huge screaming match and ended up punching him twice. I broke his nose got arrested and had to spend 5 days in lockup till Monday when the Judge heard all the cases.

Ya should Monkey . And do something else as well...ya could go to another Vet , get confirmation diagnostic that its broken.....and never take him back to this Idiots Vet ! and sue them ! 
 
Otherwise...they never do better.....they get away with screwing and think its Ok...it is NOT ok...

Well Money, just take it slow. I'm sure after four years you built a deep enough connection to your dog that this is only momentary and you didn't take a four year step back rehabbing your dog.

No, I assaulted him. I had to pay him and his hospital bills. I also had to pay court fees and a fee to the PD because apparently if you get blood on a Officer they can charge you with assault on a Officer( they didn't, thank god ).

At the moment your dog is hurt and scared. Just like some people, they lash out when they are hurt and scared. It might take a day or so for your dog to  come around, but so long as you take it slow and work with your dog, this will blow over and you will have your dog back. It just going to take time and a bit of work.

its just he's my besti and when i found he was a mess(starved abused) little guy helped me through a bad break up even his condition.... its just not cool
