So a few are saying Sera could be race gated cause of how humans have treated elves but does anyone agree that Sera doesn't come across as the type to really care about that? I still say she won't be race gated.

That would be a flimsy reason and I'm conviced Bioware is above such contrived writing.

Purely from a numbers perspective I don't think it makes sense to have a character that is already gender gated to be race gated too.

Oh I agree I'm just saying so far that's the only reason they have to make her race gated is the treatment of elves by humanity, but like I said Sera really doesn't seem like she dislikes humans' only hostility she has shown is toward Cole and the rip in the veil.

Nowhere in any of her character descriptions have I gotten the impression that she would somehow hate humans to the point of not wanting to romance a human inquisitor.

She could be race gated from humans because "don't fancy you", that would be okay, but because a trauma would really be lousy writting.

Racegating Sera would be really dumb.
I don't think the remaining racegating romances necessarily have to do with story reasons instead of animation reasons. Iron Bull was going to be racegated until John Eper pushed for new animations.

In no way would race gating Sera be okay

If it's her preferences, I don't see why not, after all nobody questions her sexuality.

We don't know a whole lot about her but it doesn't sound like her empathy for the downtrodden and disenfranchised is racially centered like Briala's is.

It's not "okay" because she's already gated to one gender, and F/F at that.

If every race/gender combo gets at least 2 options it's good enough.

You don't make a character the first female only party member and then say oh yeah only elves can romance her. Bioware keep saying they want to please the LGBT community and finally give lesbian players/yuri fans a female only romance and all race gating would do is cause fans to revolt, I bet some would even decide not to buy the game if they did that. As I and many others have said Sera has showed no disinterest in humans nor has she shown any signs that she cares about human and elf relations as far as how humans treat elves.

Nor did she showed any particuliar interest to begin, all we know is: she's a lesbian, that's it.

That's assuming we have another bi female option, which we don't know if we will or not yet.
Either way, I don't think Sera being race gated is a real possibility...

True enough, but seemed that it was Bioware's goal.

If that were the case, I wouldn't be bothered by Sera being race-gated. It might be because of something specific in her background or it might be a matter of taste.

BioWare has said no such thing.
They've said that they want to include characters with a wide range of sexualities. Sera does that, and would do so even if she wasn't a love interest. They've said they want people interested in f/f romances to have options. That will be the case, whether or not Sera has preferences regarding race.
I do take it as a given that Luke, having created Sera and her romance, wants said romance to be interesting and emotionally engaging. (Though that doesn't always translate to 'pleasing:' see Anders)

its not, if anything the last two to be announced are the race gated ones, I really think if any of the confirmed ones were race gated Bioware would of said so by now instead of making people wait just to disappoint them. I still say Varric s a good chance for a race gated romance and so is Vivi

Vapaa believes that Vivienne will be available, and seems to assume she'd be bisexual.
If that were the case, I wouldn't be bothered by Sera being race-gated. It might be because of something specific in her background or it might be a matter of taste.
I would, only because it would limit the options of gay women even further in this game as far as romance.

I hope Viv is available. She seems so different than the others (both male and female) that it would nicely flesh things out.

To be fair, saying that Sera has "[shown] no disinterest in humans" doesn't mean she is open to romance with humans, either. I don't think she'll be race-gated, but if she is, the bad history between humans and elves (or simply personal preference) being the cause of that seems believable to me.

Not if Vivi is a bi LI and the other gated Li is male, because you would always have Josie and Vivi for all races so that's 2 options no matter what, then you would have Sera as a 3rd option for a few select race.
Of course that's assuming that 1) Vivienne is a bi option 2) 1 LI of each gender is race gated.
But Gaider made clear that accessibilty for a race is not as important as accessibility for a certain gender.

Vivienne being bisexual would mean 3 possible LIs... that's more than any BioWare game. That's more than straight people got in DA:O and something only straight women got in DA 2.
Would it really be unfair to lesbians if one were race-gated?
