I would like to say I'm the manly one but at least two people thought I was a female.

Is it cross-platform?

I clicked download, then realized I probably can't play with you anyway.

How does the yellow in the corner of your eye not make you go batty??

Because it's green. Much more aesthetically pleasing. Not as obvious.

It's not super-bright green, unlike Fraps' yellow numbers.

My Headphones are also by them. Rocatt Kave 5.1 surround sound headphones so as not to annoy the neighbours/my wife with gaming explosions and the like...

IMG_20150218_224536.jpg

I have my eye on one of their keyboards too, but I can't really justify buying one until my current one breaks...

Oh, I also graduated to "sealed" (hmm. I bet that's not the best word.) headphones recently...

But there's a funny story back when I had speakers. Do you remember Vietcong, the game from Vietnam war, where you play as Special Forces, namely Steve R. Hawkins?

Well, the game was quite... the characters didn't go too far for a swear word.

So, back when I played it yeaaaars ago, my mom was about to leave me home alone. And right as she was between the doors, I defeated VC attacking a village, prompting a "Well, those f***s won't forget this anytime soon." comment from Hawkins.

Good ol' times.

Oh, or the 2003 Christmas, when I got Operation Flashpoint! I ran the Campaign early in the morning, while my parents were still sleeping. Well, there was a basic training segment at the beginning, and when my CO yelled "GO GO GO" at us... I think I woke up everyone in the apartment block... :D

I really thought everyone knew.

I saw you mention it, but it's a fast thread, and it doesn't necessarily come up much.

Let me guess, Dazzle is obviously female?

I don't know, you're not half as feminine as Duelist...

 My bad...I never look at the name but only at the Avatar !

This explains much.

Is it cross-platform?

It is not. Pretty much no game is, and the ones that try normally fail.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising was a really good game. Did you get a chance to play the multiplayer? When my brother got it, me and our friends had to get it as well. The multiplayer is so fun with a couple of friends. Shame not enough people picked it up, and even less figured out how to play it properly.

Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis.

Now ArmA: Cold War Assault.

The newer Flashpoints are just a comedy thing, to remind me ArmA is the true successor to OFP:CWC/Resistance.

That said, I own Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and Red River.

Neither are as good as ArmA. Plus, they need Games For Windows Live to play, in ADDITION to Steam which I already have installed.

Point.

Never heard of Cold War Crisis. I always though Dragon Rising was the first. Still, I had fun playing it, despite the fact that playing the multiplayer only showed to have roughly 200 people on at peak hours. I haven't played Red River, partly because I didn't have the money for it but I heard it doesn't have a multiplayer feature and that it is not as good as Dragon Rising. I think my brother has it round the house somewhere though, so maybe one day, I will get a chance to play it. (unlikely)

I haven't really been interested in ArmA before, but I can see a connection between Operation Flashpoint and ArmA now, simply by how they play and look. If I ever get a PC ready for gaming, I think I might try it out.

I get a strong feeling people, at first sight, think I'm a woman. LightningPoodle isn't exactly the most masculine name going.

Missed? I miss nothing. ;)

Even when I had Morena Baccarin as my avatar, my username is unambiguous enough that no one ever confused me for a woman. Not that I would've minded. I play as a woman in BioWare games more than I play as a man, these days.

I seem to remember correcting someone who thought you were a man, once... All this really goes to show is that humans are humans and that gender distinctions are fluid at best.

I think I remember that... I'm still waiting for the day when someone will call me a sexist/homophobe... Oh the laughter will be loud!

I didn't say I wasn't Gamora, wow. I never mentioned my name!!! You don't know. Let's leave it ambiguous. Maybe I am.

BC, I bet people are too amazed at how articulate and funny a cat can be, how do you type so much without opposable thumbs???...they don't even think about gender.
