I'm pretty similar. I am a straight cis-gender male. However I will rp in games female characters and invent stories for them and I'll play straight and gay or bi characters if able to. I like imagining stories or trying to see things from another persons shoes or perspective. If BioWare makes a transgender option in a future game I'll probably rp a character in that. I don't mean anything as disrespect nor do I do it for titillation. I have zero interest lesbian porn scenes for example in my real life. It's more for a variety in story telling and experience. I do a bit of creative writing in my personal life and so I am always trying to imagine scenarios and different characters. I've also said before I don't play these games to play me per se. It would get dull fast. I am also not terribly macho in real life. I watch a little sports but once had a marriage proposal when a girlfriend discovered I loved Gene Kelly movies. I hate being boxed in one role or "you're a guy so you have to always be this way or look at things this way or react this way." That's a terribly limited way to spend one's life when it's a short one and you really ought to try and experience as much as you are capable of and learn and be open to as much as you can.
That's just my point of view of things for me or what's comfortable for me. It's not for everyone and everyone has different experiences or reasons for things that are as valid as my own or more so. In the end I just try to live as peacefully as I can, not hurt anyone in a deliberate way if I can help it and have as much fun as I can and grown in my own way in the time I have.
Oh yeah. I just don't understand being judgemental of people for being a certain way, as long as they are doing no harm. Sleep with whom you like, wear what you like, play what you like, read what you like, watch what you like, and don't be ashamed of the way you are. That's my attitude to life, at least the one I try to stick to as much as I can. I am human so I don't manage to keep to it as well as I would like all the time, but I do try.
And I'm always interested in other points of view and life experiences, not because I'm voyeuristic, at least I hope not, but because I value and want to understand the diversity of what it means to be human.
