Yeah, they were something. I did crush on Emma though. (Thanks I needed a good laugh)

When I was in my state of denial on Cassandra I still hoped that would happen but I finally gave up on that one.

You could tell those scenes were directed by a straight man with zero input from actual lesbians, lol.

And yeah, of course it wont happen (That would have made the game too perfect for me lol), my only hope now is that Sera's romance wont be as shallow as I am assuming it will be. I just want something meaningful and not strictly light hearted all the time, every time.

Yeah, that's what I was always afraid of. I know a lot of people don't understand the complaint of wanting to have a LI that is important to the main story, but this kinda falls in with that as well. I feel like Sera being a lesbian is probably going to go about as deep as "because lol I felt like it" and wont be explored any further than that.

I was still very much on board with that imagined scenario of Cassandra being surprised by being attracted to a female Inquisitor, because it's way more three dimensional and interesting from a character standpoint than just "hey I like your face and your a lady, lets make out", but alas.

What, Sera being a lesbian just because she is is shalllow now ?

Nothing about her character comes off as serious to me, so I was saying it seems doubtful she would go into any detail about it.

Also, what is it with Bioware and the sort of class clown archetype? I didn't like it with Alistair, I'm not really liking it with Sera. I dunno, I wanted to be right with Cassandra and now I really wanna be wrong, haha.

Okay these are my picks for the race gated Companions out of who has been announced and the few who haven't been announced

Cassandra- We really don't have a clue about her preferences since we its never been brought up, I agree with the people on her maybe wanting an heir to her name and really she doesn't come across to me as someone who would go for a Dwarf or a Qunari. Elves are tricky since they are seen as low class citizens So if I had to guess she could be race gated to just humans or humans and elves.

Cullen- I don't think Cullen would go for a Qunari at all and maybe not a dwarf either. So I could see him being gated off to dwarfs and Qunari. Or maybe just Qunari. Especially after what happened in Kirkwall since he was there during the Qunari attack and we all know Cullen doesn't forget things like that.

Varric- If Varric is a LI I could see him being gated to just dwarfs, he did say he wasn't attracted to humans and lets face it dwarfs are not very fond of elves and their frolicking. He also wouldn't be up to romancing a Qunari after what happened in Kirkwall.

Vivienne-  Lets face it everyone thinks she is shallow, conceited and picky. She has a high ranking in the world and wants to go higher and I don't see her jumping in the bed with elves, dwarfs or qunari so I could see her only being interested in humans, or at the very most humans and elves.

Those are my picks.

Has someone described Sera as a class-clown type? I understand she's supposed to be not super serious and perhaps a bit carefree on things, but I never saw her compared to Alistair before.

Unlike Alistair though Sera does it right, and I have a feeling she will be serious when she needs to be.

We're not even going to Nevarra, so I doubt this will be her character arc.

I personally don't want her to go into details about it, I don't want her (or anyone really) tring to explain or rationalize her sexuality.

We have eight romances.

It's likely someone will rationalize their sexuality.
It's likely someone will not think about it at all.
It's likely someone will be carefree.
It's likely someone will be serious and uncomfortable.

They have EIGHT romances and their stated goal is to tell different stories and have different approaches.

Whatever you don't want in a romance will probably crop up at least once.

As for Sera, Allan has said that Luke wanted to make her a lesbian, and nothing Luke has said regarding her sexuality makes me think it's for 'story reasons.'

I think it might have been Luke himself who said that.

Although I know philosophically, the idea of providing representation WAS something we wanted to do (I know it doesn't necessarily matter to you, specifically).

That being said, I don't think her sexuality is something that she needs to justify or explain in detail. If she wants to talk about it, great! If not, that's great too.

She does kind of come off that way, she seems like the type who would joke and play pranks on people but I could see her being serious or it all being a front to some innet turmoil that may come to the surface during her companion quest, who knows if her sexuality will come up as many have said. Same goes for Dorian.

You might not think she is but from what I have read a lot seem to think she comes off that way.

Yeah, I don't mind it, actually, just curious. I enjoy the characters who like to have fun and can act a bit childish at some points, as long as it's not overbearing/constant. I think Sera will be equally if not more parts a grounded and serious character as well though, I'm not worried.

Oh yeah I forgot about that, well I stil ldon't see her being interested in dwarfs or qunari, just doesn't seem like her preference, but eh I could be wrong.

What I don't want is a character that tries to rationalize their sexuality, thankfully I'm not getting these vibes from Sera (or Dorian, for that matter).

Sera might not have to but I have a feeling Dorian might since he is seen as an outcast and since from where he comes from see's homosexuality as a no no, unlike the rest of Thedes.

How does that work?

Sylvia said when she joined there was just the word 'Diplomat?' on the whiteboard and that became Josephine. Now I'm picturing someone writing LESBIAN and sticking lots of little question marks around it.

Luke and Patrick end up playing rock-paper-scissors* for it.

"Heads, I pansexual quanri. Tails, you lesbian elf."

Dorian strikes me as the "I am what I am and will not compromise it to please you" kind of guy.

I don't know it seems to me that society as a whole accepts lesbians more than gay men, that's how I see it anyway cause we are used to seeing girls be more affectionate with each other than men. You see girls who are best friends hold hands, walk arm and arm, hug etc but guys you don't see doing that, atleast that is what I have seen when I go out. So I could see Dorian being hesitant to start a relationship with a Male Inquisitor cause of what might happen, Sera on the other hand I could see being like oh screw it I'm going for it and if she says no oh well i'll move on lol.

I know you meant this as a joke, but now the idea of the first lesbian LI character being summed up as "LESBIAN???" on a whiteboard by straight men kind of scares me even more, lol.

I'm not sure how it works.

You were attributing me saying something that Luke decided, when I think it might have come up when you and Luke were talking.  I just don't recall saying what you said I said.  Maybe I just forgot.
