Anders was a dude. I think Sera could hit on a Female Inquisitor and you wouldn't get a 10th of the complaints.

This is also the character described as not being able to repress herself or her words. (Or something like that.)

If she doesn't engage in a spontaneous display of affection, I expect she'll be telling everyone if you respond.

I am always cautious when straight men write queer women, this is not like I'm picking on Biowares writers specifically. That being said, my main concern with the Sera romance is more just that I wont enjoy her personality, and that wouldn't be any different if she were written by a queer woman but still had the same character traits. .

I recall the second game having a major event and then your LI visiting your home which initiate the romance with an exception or two but it would be interesting vary the initiative of the characters and how they approach their feelings.

I remember people saying that both Anders and Merril's romance would lock out others when they visited you and you started a romance, I don't know about Fenris but when Isabela visits you it didn't really lock her in as a romance, her's didn't finish till before the final battle.

Sera comes off(IMO) as more assertive so I can picture making a first move but that's just guessing really.

I agree that it seems like she wouldn't wait, but I think they're being more careful not to scare the straights. 

 

Even though Maria is right, since Sera is female and gay there probably wouldn't be nearly as many complaints.

I cannot wait to see the love scence for her, let alone that snort giggle. Wish they did a VA for her like they did the iron bull or for atleast most/all the characters

I kind of get a bit of a Jack vibe from Sera. Not so much the "experimented on as a kid" thing, but there's got to be some story behind how she joined the Friends of Red Jenny. She also appears to be really freaked out by the Breach and other spirit-related things like Cole based off of the E3 demo. Perhaps she had a bad experience with magic?

A lot of fans didn't like Anders in DA 2, he went from being a positive guy with a sense of humor to a brooding, no BS, paranoid mage who ends up killing a lot of people, majority of fans just didn't like him. Sera seems to be the exact opposite of that who so far has a personality many can love, now that could change during the events of the game but who knows.
