Quiet thread is quiet. Have a Sera...
She looks like she's plotting something in this shot. She probably is.

Ugh. Firstly I didn't know that about you and it makes me mad that you've been through that... I can't even parse that sentence, though. It's a contradiction in terms...
No... It's a play on the old joke that BioWare writers survive on the tears of their whining fans. It's an attack on the straight guys who whinged that they couldn't romance her, not a statement that she hates men. (At least that's how I read it.)
Yeah, there was a lot of 'outrage' about Sera being a lesbian before the game came out. Then it was the hate threads after it came out. *sigh*
Thats certainly a better reason to have the response, but again, context. If they had added that in some how, used a phrase, added something to give that message. It could have been executed better in my opinion. I hope it goes without saying to everyone here that I absolutely do not agree or condone those hate threads either.
Without knowing the contest all you see is a cup containing non-specific male tears....implying she enjoys causing pain to all males.
Anyways, just sharing my opinion, I don't expect it to be a popular one. I appreciate the dialogue but probably not something to discuss further so I don't drag down the thread.
I echo this question: how's the pup?
Sopwith Pup? Pretty well. Considering they phased it out about a hundred years ago...
Echoception!

It's a fine line. The venomous hate that was going around in those threads (and the Cas is manly ones, and various others) promotes a kind defensiveness you need to shut out the stupid. You get used to not listening to people, because it dulls the pain, and that's always on the edge of indiscriminate vindictiveness.
In context the tears jokes are hilarious, the breaking of tension kind of funny which is not only enjoyable but good for you. Out of context, I don't know.

Hey, Wintery... I just took this photo outside my work. Hang on in there... Spring is coming!

Growing up on Westerns, classic war movies and Flim Noir detective drama's enabled me to spot Blackwall as a man hiding something really early on. When ever a supposed hero talks a lot about loyalty, duty, honor and doing the right thing, they are hiding something. When they try to convince those around them that their organization is better than most people think over and over, they are hiding something for sure. In the movies far to many cowboys, soldiers and detectives catch a bullet in the back because they don't pick up on it. lol
Blackwall's very much like some of those western characters or the ones in Film Noir. I have a yen for both of those genres and so I don't hate Blackwall. He reminds me too much of the compromised character whose done horrible things and has one last shot at making good. He can never make good on what he's done in the past but maybe he can save someone in the future. I don't know if it's a question of forgiving Blackwall ever. He's got to carry that rock. Give him a sword. Put him to work. Breaking rocks in the hot sun. Don't know if any of that makes sense.
Had me thinking of "Unforgiven" while writing that.
It's o degrees here or minus 17 celsius. Driving in I tune over to "Breakfast with The Beatles." First song the guy plays is "Here Comes The Sun." Cruelty or optimism?

Yup. When you know the context, the male tears thing is just funny, but Dgyre's reaction shows just how easily it can be misinterpreted as some form of misandry, which is worrisome.

Due to the gulfstream it hardly ever gets anywhere near that cold, here.

That is an amazing pair of sentences. I just want to roll those around in my head for a minute.
I have often sat looking at a paragraph I just typed online and thought it was entirely too snarky and bitter, then erased it and started over. Nobody but me sees the paragraph, which is good because it's all context and catharsis. But just the writing of it freed something in me and I can go on and respond more calmly.

It used to never get that cold here. In fact it's the coldest day since some day in 1994! Some claim it's global warming in that warm air that used to hold the arctic air over Canada now no longer does. ![]()
They're lovely. I think I want a forest of those to run through dramatically.
I've seen some pretty large concentrations of them, but I'm not sure I've ever seen enough to be called a forest. In the next few weeks, the Daffodils will start appearing here, and that's one of my favourite times to be here in York, as they are planted all around the city walls...

Augh you guys, Kelly really irritates me. I don't need an administrative assistant, stop monitoring my bloody mail. Can I fire her? Or make her cry at least?
Just finish the game Pixie , when ya do I give ya the link for the most epic comic based on Mass effect...and ya will find the journey was worth it

I don't mind Blackwall. He did something terrible, yes. He also can't fix it, nor can killing him fix it, so all that matters to me is that he's no longer dangerous and willing to do good. Which he is. I'll sentence him to join the Grey Wardens anyway, though, because there's legal precedent for that and he finds it satisfying.
This male tears pic wasn't designed for man hating but for those men who cried over someone being made lesbian.
This meme existed for a long time since lesbians got used to "why is she a lesbian why" comments (even insults) in every show/movie/game, hence the meme.
It also implies the straight male tears are more often than gay female (or gay male) tears, since you only see the first meme around often.
