So, two archers total along with Varric?
Two archers (Sera/Varric) plus a dual-wield rogue, in my opinion.. Though it'd only valid for presenting the characters, since we can equip them with daggers (the first two) or bows if we want.
So, two archers total along with Varric?
OK. I'll be the one to say it. It looks like she's fisting something.
LI status confirmed?
You were supposed to strongly dislike Petrice, even if you agreed with her motives. She's not a companion, she's cast as an antagonist. It's not really an analogous situation.
Yeah, sure, I agree that plenty of this stuff is intentional. Like I said, BioWare's writers tend to create interesting companions designed to evoke a strong reaction from players. Doesn't mean that we should assume perfect competence on their part, though.
Heh, I never assume that any game company is perfect. I learned that lesson years ago. Also, it doesn't mean that I think all of BioWare's characters are worthy of a strong reaction from me. Like Sebastian, as I mentioned above, which I find just bland. I'm going to continue to hope for good things.
I call myself a pessimistic optimist: Always expect and prepare for the worst. Never give up hoping for the best. When things turn out well, celebrate it! When things turn out wrong, pick yourself up and keep going.
Hey, Zevran had a sex change operation.
Ok, I'm not being fair. She is way manlier than Zevran.
Take that back, or I will demand satisfaction!

I don't think the companions are set with weapon specializations. If I'm understanding it correctly, you can change all of their specs (including having Varric go dual wield melee), so I wouldn't put much stock in how they are presented. That being said, yes, her concept art picture from the leaked character survey and the very very brief alpha gameplay footage showed her as a bow wielding archer.
Regarding her personality, she doesn't sound like the type that I am interested in getting to know. I'm not a fan of brats nor the type to steal from the rich to give to herself. I'm thinking that she's not going to be one of my favorites based on what we've seen. Of course, I do love a good fisting joke, so she might win some points in that respect.....
Why do I get this hunch that folks that are going to be turned off by her personality are still going to laugh their asses off at her jokes?
Sera - Iron Bull - Vivienne and Cassandra are so going to be my buddies; I know it !!!
Is there any VA that comes to mind for her?
Combo Iron Bull / Sera must be something too ^^
Well based on what we know of the character personalities (i.e., very little), it seems like Sera would get on best with Varric and maybe Iron Bull. It also seems like the Grey Warden has a pretty good sense of humor. If that same picture is anything to go on, I don't think Cassandra will like her all that much. Viv is a tough one because I'm not sure if she will be the fun, over the top type of Orlesian noblewoman or the stuffy and uptight type of Orlesian noblewoman. Could go either way. We know nothing of Solas' personality, so no idea how he'll get along with a "brat".

Agreed! Or maybe she's describing the unconventional way she eviscerated an enemy ![]()

Definitely getting the same feeling here, so I'm hoping this just means she has the most room for character growth. Otherwise, I'll probably only take her along for a little extra tension every once in a while ![]()
I'm interesting in this character, but I have no way of knowing if I will like her until I see her myself. I've learned to wait until I've gotten my own impressions of a character prior to forming a full opinion. From the looks of things it could be either way.
I was sure that picture was intended to be her doing armpit farts.

No hands under the armpits. ![]()
This tells me more about you than perhaps you intended......
What? She is obviously a sexually liberated person and I have yet to see one of those not be an LI when present in a Bioware game.
That's all I meant, obviously.

Ok, fine. She is as manly as Zevran.
In all seriousness, she does sound a bit like a female Zevran.

Better.

That's my thoughts about "Sera" too. She could be our resident horndog.

You did set yourself up for dave's remark little bit... ![]()

Suuuuuuure it is........ Although, on that point, you are probably right. Zevran and Isabela were our promiscuous rogues in DA: O and DA 2 and Sera could very well fill that role in DA: I.
In all seriousness, she does sound a bit like a female Zevran.
Yeah, actually she does. Thin blonde elf rogue with ties to the underworld and who has a ribald sense of humor.....that sounds like it could be either of them, to be honest.
She hits me as a Tara Strong.
That was my first impression, but I would prefer a huskier voice like Katherine Moennig (who is not a voice actress, but I like her voice).

I would prefer a more contralto voice as well. Tara is a fine VA, but I'd like someone not quite as high pitched as she tends to be.
@Elder I"m not going too much by the pic, except the look on her face. It's me just speculating and guessing based off of previous trends. Besides, she's the first companion that I've actually considered to try for if she's an LI.
That is, if my Lady Cadash can't have Varric.
I hope she's funny and tells a lot of jokes, even if they're horrible. And other than the necessity of saving the world, I hope she's one of our more neutral companions.

I hope so too, and trends thus far have shown that rogues tend to be that way in DA games.
For some reason, one of my favorite bits of dialogue between Varric and Isabela comes to mind. This is said after Anders blows up the Chantry and you're trying to race to the Gallows.
Varric: Just curious, does any of this make sense to you?Isabela: What? This whole "everyone's waiting for the world to end" thing?Varric: Yeah, that.Isabela: Not remotely.Varric: Good. It's not just me, then.
