I recommend it! I mean it will ultimately depend on how well they deliver on their fun set up, but so far it's pretty cool.

so wait...last night i finished the Temple of Mythal. Lysindra talked some sense into Calpernia(because of course i did Leli's quest are you kidding me that's bae). I was questioning whether or not to let Morrigan drink from the Well of Sorrows...but i couldn't justify letting Lysindra drink from it. So i let Morrigan drink and we all know how that ends. Welp she asked for it!

Went to talk to Sera about it and Lysindra told her that she believed some of it. She actually told her that she was acting elfy and that she'd gone stupid. That pissed Lysindra off. The "stupid" part. It actually gave me the option to break off the romance which i was shocked to find. i mean it was an argument but I'm playing as a dwarf soooo it wasn't as insulting to me as it would have been for a devout Dalish elf. oh man. that's what i was thinking the whole time i saw the scene...how horrible it would have been if i WERE playing as Lavellan who believed. borderline verbally abusive too. idk that i could experience that without breaking up with her as an elf. Lysindra simply told her to shut it and all was well but really...i caught a glimpse personally of why this is a terrible scene.

 

Yay! for talking sense into Calpernia...I'm glad you were able to do that...  I hope we gave you good advice that Calpernia is worth the Templar playthrough..((and of course more Leli missions))

 

 

 

yes...that scene is one of the main sources of my criticism of Sera's behavior ((again, to clarify, I think Sera should be in the game exactly as she is, who she is..this is just a scene were you see her flaws, which all companions have))

 

I really like the explanation for her reaction that has been posed in this thread...of her being terrified because of the events at Mythal, and I think its dead on...but yeah that scene, especially for a devout Lavellan...is very rough..

yup agreed. i have a lot of sympathy for sera in that scene, but she's also being exceptionally callous and cruel to lavellan. 

 

i was thinking a lot about this last night before i went to bed, abt why the tragedy of that romance does not appeal to me at effin all when i'm usually cool with a romance that sours or ends tragically, sometimes even preferring it if it feels like the right arc (like my brosca who exiled alistair)

 

and i think it's partially because it's f/f and partially because that scene is a little...2 real in its everyday awfulness, and doesn't offer any meaningful followup and. idk. i just can't see it being satisfying, esp given the larger narrative lavellan deals with it, to put her through that

i was watching Jack Reacher randomly yesterday. Really half watching it. I do recall that Tom Cruise's character describing 4 types of people that join the military and one of the types was those that want to kill people legally. i don't know why but i never thought about that IRL. I'm always wary of people that are obsessed with violence and death. And i also realize that most of them have never experienced it on a level that EYE have or they would never romanticize it.

there was no point to this post. or i forgot it. idk.

 

there is technically supposed to be a psychological  review and people who are simply joining so they can kill are not supposed to be allowed into the military...not saying its done properly or effectively, but in principle those aren't the kind of people the military wants....

It sounds and looks really interesting from the developer diary vids.  I may well find myself unable to resist it.  Getting the "complete season" might be the best way to deal with the episodes.

what? she said it. the best exchange with those two will always be the "make it worth it" when Quiz is romancing Sera. That was very endearing. Lysindra had flirted with Cassie a few times...and some after that because she knew there was no chance. Surprisingly, never got "the talk" from her. But i guess it didn't bother her because she knew i wasn't serious. she called Lysindra a good friend last night.

Only fight left is to kick Corpyhallus striped stocking wearing ass to the farthest end of neverland. for the 4th time.

also, i was glad i could save Calpernia. idk...she grew on me because she really was being misled. Now Samson...NOPE. i really have no time for him.

I like samson more than cal. Though both are great characters i prefer samson cause he bridges my games and makes like templar a bit more and i can sympathize with him.

I just saw this scene on youtube. She's not just cruel, she's a totally un-self aware hypocrite. She talks about people trying to force things to fit into their world view while doing that exact thing, and she doesn't even realize it. And for someone who hates when people boss around others and tell them what to do and think, she is awfully narrow-minded about what others believe. I chose to romance her in my first playthrough, but honestly, she may be one of the first BioWare characters in the last decade that in part I just don't like. She's agressively ignorant and narrow-minded, and has the sense of humor of a 5-year old raised on R-rated movies.

 

Too bad there's no option to call her out on her ****.
