and Helo...

 

Helo is one of my fav char of ALL TIME

 

I liked that after some unpleasantness early on,

they became this really devoted couple, so tight with one another and watching each others' backs (sort of like Adama/Roslin later on), even when Sharon comes up with a really horrifying way of reuniting with her child and Helo has to go along with it.

 

And then when Sharon's all "this Cylon will follow orders, even if it means she's the last Cylon in the universe" and Helo is the one who ends up violating orders to stop what he feels is wrong... so she doesn't have to be the last one.

 

Okay I feel a longer rewatch coming on.

some of them do come that way i just couldn't resist the joke. there's some sorta Cerebus code thingy too for all the weapons. My first copy of ME2 had Stolen Memory and Price of Revenge bundled along with Firewalker which i now never do because it has no bearing on anything. Overlord and Lair of the Shadow Broker were not included.

meant to tell you guys i picked up Neriya's playthrough again and apparently we hadn't done a LOT including the Temple of Mythal. Soo she's totally drinking from the well. She bears Mythal's tattoos...an accident on purpose i think. i have gotten to the end of this game four times and i thought it was with her. Nope. Gotta stop deleting folk but it's BioWare's fault with this dumb save limit.

thats just it, Helo ALWAYS does what he feels to be right, he never betray's his principles.  Whether its overcoming his own ingrained hatred for Cyclons and trusting Athena in the beginning, investigating the bad doctor......preventing genocide....

Yeah it kind of feels rare to have a character so reliably decent in a story.

i had no idea which tattoo was which when I originally created Neriya. I just thought it fit the angry little mage she was prior to leaving for the conclave...something felt omnious to her. i never have truly delved into elven lore like that(i feel like i should. just out of respect). i think Patrick Weekes did an interview saying which tat belonged to the different elven gods and that's how i found out.

well, but think about it...most of the time a character like helo would be the main protagonist...and if your main protagonist always does the right thing and always wins its starts becoming a mary sue type situation and there isn't as much 'drama' as the companies want their shows to have.  Yes you can do this with good villians and challenging arcs, but they all want their internal flawed drama.  

 

Which, yes people who do the right thing all the time are rare and sometimes can be unrealistic.

 

BSG has a large cast, a big ensemble, so you have more wiggle room to have this kind of char and have it work well with audiences

Wow, just had the weirdest dream. Five people were going to rob some sort of mansion on a huge cliff. And all of them were these insane parodies of Hollywood movie troupes. I'm dead serious, no joking. I woke up laughing my a$$ off because , they were scaling the cliff face( all hooked on a single rope ) and the jokester/prankster guy made it to the top first. So, he reaches the top and then looks down with a weird smile and pulls out some child safety scissors( like they us in kindergarten ) and cuts the rope.

i also want to ask something about the Wardens...when you choose whether to exile them or have them work for the Inquisition, it always says if you let them stay they will be vunerable to corruption. No matter if you leave Hawke in the fade. So does that ever happen if you have them work for the Inquisition? The corruption, i mean.

The corruption is because of the taint within them, and Corypheus' ability to manipulate that. Yes, that concern does come up.

Haha, I'm not even joking when I said I woke up laughing. There was a tough guy, super hot smart chick and prankster but I can't remember the other two. The tough guy got mauled by an octopus and the smart chick made it her pet. She named it squishy, and that's when I woke up.

Edited: I just realized how crazy this sounds but, I swear this is what my dream was about.
