Ugh, I don't even know. I'm not usually tired, usually I get great sleep. I think I'm just still messed up from weird dreams.
That can do it to you. Lay off the spicy food! ![]()

It's become really clear that I ended up heading to Therum waaayyy to early when playing Mass Effect last night. I got the the part where you have to leave the Mako and enter the canyon. The rocket troopers in the 2nd area where you fight the Geth tore me a new one. The Geth ambush with the Geth walker at the end of th canyon is pretty much instant death. lol

I hate spicy food though...
It's been the third Asari spawn that's killed me each time. I'll equip the shotgun.
With the nerve grenades I'd throw them. They'd explode. No effect on the colonists so I ended up taking them all out.

I think (other than the final battle) I got lucky and did each mission in the right order. I was confused for certain parts and majorly screw up in some areas, but the battles felt good not too under or over powered.

That's a tough fight. My advice is there is a building to your left. For some reason the Geth will not pursue you behind it. It makes for good cover. I used that to jump out them and wear down their health over time.
Are you actually equipping the grenades? You could just be throwing grenades and not the special nerve ones.
Yeah I equipped them. At least I believe I did.
*The grenades did no damage. It was my guns that took out the colonists.

Did they go off though, or just sort of sit there on the ground?

The nerve grenades should freeze them and make them drop to the floor. They don't do any damage.
He meant he wasn't throwing regular grenades because nothing exploded in fiery death, I think.

They went off after a delay but nothing happened.

Yep definitely no fiery explosion. More like a smoky bang then nothing. Also a delay to them going off.

I'll try if I can make it that far into the area. I literally had 10 sec at the most after the cut scene before I was taking a dirt nap. lol It's was bad.

They might have been too far from the colonist then. They have to be right at their feet and then the colonist will drop.
The smoky bang is supposed to happen, so I think you were just out of range.

If you have a previous save you could always return to the Normandy and do some side quests to level up.

I'm trying to guess where you are on Therum. If you're at that point where there is no more road for the Mako and you've made it out and you go up that incline and the Geth ships drop those troops to contest your advance then your at that point where you can take advantage of that buildings cover. I had Garrus and Ashley with me and they both went down within seconds and I took a lot of damage before I went behind that building. It's a tough fight but there is an even tougher one coming up for you if you get past that. ![]()

I must not have been close enough then.
I may go back to the Normandy tonight before trying the Thorian fight again. I think Ashley has higher combat stats than Tali so I may swap her out and grab the Krogan too.

Or I could be a lazy bastard and use god mode. lol

There's a god mode? Man, I'd've done more side missions if I knew that!
It comes in god mode?

Yep, you have to edit a line in one mass effect's configuration files to access the console. After that you can use cheats.

Oh, trust me I know. I'm going to reload an earlier game or simply cheat my way through it. Since this isn't my first ME playthrough, I'm ok with using cheats.

Ah ok. I think I'll just tough it out. Eventually I'll beat the Thorian! ![]()

You have to open the BIOInput file in notepad. Scroll down to the [Engine.Console] section and add ConsoleKey=Tilde to the bottom of the list of codes. BIOinput can be found in My documents/ Bioware/ MassEffect/Config.
After you do that, you can open the developer console in game by hitting the ~ key.
