I've been wondering about that. Since cats really trigger my asthma badly, people have been suggesting I try another animal for company (rabbit, hedgehog, etc). But I don't know if a few minutes exposure would be enough to tell, and I don't want to adopt an animal and have to find a home for it later. That wouldn't be fair to the animal.

"a select part of a group that is superior to the rest in terms of ability or qualities."

No no, I was wrong.  The definition clearly makes it a relative term, not a set standard.  It it is a curve kind of thing.

What I mean is that the examinations are set so that only those at the top end of that curve will be able to pass. Theoretically, anyone could, but in practice only the best can. Hence you get your elite. Quite often, if too many are passing, then they'll just set the bar higher.

Well, you could always go to the nearest animal shelter and ask to interact with a rabbit a few times before you adapt. I can say they are great pets. You just have to rabbit proof your place, take care of their teeth and litter box train them if they are not trained. Also, you should really consider getting at least two. Rabbits are pretty social animals and tend to do a lot better in captivity if they live with another rabbit.

I've heard that they love chewing on cables, so I'd have to do something about that. There are a lot of cables and cords in this room :)

If your friend is nice you could try staying overnight with the hedgie's cage in the same room. 24 hours should be enough to tell. And for added measure you can go to the doctor and ask for a scratch test to double check.

Cables, furniture, Christmas tress, you name it. The trick is to ensure that you give them something to chew on and make sure that you give them it when ever you catch them chewing on something else. After a while chewing on stuff will become a non-issue. Simply because they will want to chew on what you give them, to avoid any issues. Rabbits teeth do not stop growing, so they chew on things to keep them grounded down.

The problem is she also has like five cats, so I can't stay at her place.

She could bring the hedgie over here and stay the night, though we might want to wait til it's warmer. I think the little thing might not take well to being moved around in the cold.

That's a good idea. :) You can have a hedgie sleepover, how fun!

Doing good.  Blasting some Sabbath inspired Doom Metal and just enjoying the morning. Though if I keep listening to this kind of music, the fuzzy guitar and bass will probably case me to start growing hair in my ears.

I suspect that if Poodle tried to pick Cat up like that he'd get a claw in the face! ;)

Ok, I'll check it out if you listen to the first song off this. Oh, no real crazy screaming here and it's very groove focused.
