Ah see I don't know much manga beyond a bit of Lupin and I have a volume of Japanese Batman manga from the 60's (a fun, very thrilling, but very Japanese take of Batman).

me neither..although..I did watch a few but nowhere near some peoples outta there who watch and eat manga daily .

 

Manga...are like some stuff in real life...ya gotta like it or hate it..

Yeah the drawing is exellent . The music is awesome ! The story is good...but its mostly the flow of emotions that make it a bit muh....

I never really got into anime beyond my childhood shows, Digimon/Pokemon/Card Captor Sakura/Yugioh/Sailor Moon. I don't know why I stopped watching, I guess I just got more into the ABC network shows.

Yeah the drawing is exellent . The music is awesome ! The story is good...but its mostly the flow of emotions that make it a bit muh....

 

Japanese anime has always struck me that way. I loved Speed Racer, Battle of the Planets, Starblazers as a kid but while the graphics were cool the deeper emotional content was always kind of rare or stilted. 

 

I do think if you want emotion Miyazaki's stuff is the best or most realized. I enjoy the things I see but yeah I want more from it. Now Samurai movies...love me some Samurai films!!

I do think if you want emotion Miyazaki's stuff is the best or most realized. I enjoy the things I see but yeah I want more from it. Now Samurai movies...love me some Samurai films!!

I'm not saying they dont..I was talking about this one lol if I compare it to Naruto..it sure lack alot of mushy stuff . But also in comparison , the writers are better . Kishimoto (the creator of Naruto) while he was good at drawing and was very imaginative....he wasnt a writer . And it showed alot in his manga , where he would repeat alot of thing wich over so many years (Started in 1999 and ended this year)...it become annoying like hell . And unlike many others manga.....he never seem to have...learned or even noticed that . And he has a whole team to animate his damn manga and nobody ever tell him 'Dude ! thats repetetive like hell?!?' 

 

Ah well...but he did make something amazing .

Samurai are cool..but I dont agree with their system or the belief they hold or how they were made....

Yeah the whole bushido code thing is very hard to get behind. I enjoy them for the action and the poetic stoicism of the characters even as I am reassuring myself that I never want to know anyone who lives like that. It's one of those art forms where one has to separate their personal beliefs from the art they're experiencing.

I do recommand Ghost in the Shell . I watched (its a movie)...it when it came out , and all the reference they made went over my head . Heck...back then I didnt understand squat but it was fun none the less . 

 

 

Oh and Macross plus! The music !!! Tis movie is AWESOme! if ya like....flying ship and such...
