Berserk is mine. Hands down my favorite Anime and Manga for sure. So much so that I shelled out a stupid amount of money to get my hands on a Figma figure of Guts in his Black Swordsman armor.

Beyond having good taste, of course.
My PC is all Tomb Raider at the moment, but I have amassed some Life Is Strange that might replace it for a time. I may be obsessed with it.

Worth watching for sure. Don't bother with the newer releases though. They skip a lot and move too fast. I will warn you Berserk puts the Dark in Dark Medieval Fantasy. Once it gets going, light hearted moments are few and far between. It also deals with some subject matter that might bother some. Simply put the Anime and Manga are very adult. But, that does not mean it turns into a hentai or something like the Saw movies. lol
The main character, Guts, is one of my favorite characters in general.

Or, you could just lump Cowboy Bebop and Berserk together as the two greatest anime ever created. Because let's face it they are. I would also lump Gintama, Fooly Cooly and perhaps Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood in this category as well. But, that's just my two cents.Berserk is mine. Edited: I highly recommend Gintama it's hilarious. It pokes fun at Naruto, Bleach, Disney the X-Files everything. Also imagine feudal Japan invaded( and conquered ) by aliens, and Samurai are illegal. That's Gintama, it's cray cray.

It's very much a futuristic western and bebop is a style of Jazz that makes up the bulk of the shows soundtrack.

It draws from film noir and old school detective/police drama's as well. Much like The Big O (another to add to your list) it's an anime that draws heavily from western influences. Western meaning US culture. The Big O is pretty much what you would get if you crossed Batman: The animated series with a Anime about big robot's.
