That's my reaction to most normal horror movies. Alien got me, though...

To be honest with ya...I'm the opposite..

Its the only movie I never found scary . well the exorcist too ..but I saw that one very late many years Later . Anyone who saw the exorcist when it come out..they all swear its scary like hell .

So yeah all scary movies are scary save for Alien wich I never found scary . Then again...1st time I saw ripley and I was in LOve

I would probably pick them up at some point if I found them cheap. Probably not my thing in comics really. I either read BPRD or the Goon and old Marvels. But I need to renew my comic shop membership anyway soon (up to 50% off hardback books and I've been gobbling up all those DC archives and Marvel masterworks).
As well as getting good deals on Silverage back issues.

Prey was amazing. The story is told from a Predators point of view. You get to learn about their clans, cast system all of it. Not their history though, to many wars it's all been lost.

I might check if my brother has it. He was the reason I went to see the movie-cause he was a big fan and wanted to go.

I am trying to talk my girlfriend into watching it. She hates sci-fi so to her it's just some dumb space ships sh*t and I've been trying to play the horror movie/monster movie angle with her because she does love monster movies.

I read somewhere that coffee is overtaking tea in England. So it's not just you. All of England is losing its Britishness!

Yeah you can't move for coffee shops on the high streets of the UK these days. Not just Starbucks but competing UK-based chains like Costa and Caffe Nero, as well as loads of independent places. There's a great one near me, actually...

To me the fact that Alien is on a spaceship is why it's good. There's no evidence for any actual monsters in the world. Sci-fi is the thing that lets me suspend my disbelief.

Another one that is a good sci-fi horror is Event Horizon. Sci-fi gets annoying for me because they're usually military stories. (Star Trek, Star Wars, Star Gate, Mass Effect, etc.)

That's one thing I liked about Back to the Future 2. We got to see all this awesome technology in the hands of civililians. I don't know the military lifestyle so to me most sci-fi stories are completely unrelatable.

You and I would agree about that. I have to play a different angle to coax her into watching it. I know, know, that she will love it if she gives it a chance. However I know her love of it will be different than how I view it or appreciate it. But it's not a big deal. I know I've always got her right there for Godzilla movies and the like! :D

You have hit a nail on the head for something that bothers me in sci-fi and that's the Marines thing. I have to look past it in Aliens and I groaned when I saw it in ME. I really hate the trope. Dislike it. Star Trek doesn't bother me so much because the good aspects of that also played up that the Enterprise is a military vehicle, yes, but also mainly a vehicle of exploration. However the JJ Abrams films deviated from the original series and the Next Gen by going in a more military/action vein and I did not care for that. I am hoping a new director will take that series back to it's exploration roots and I want to see less Klingons and Romulans too!!!

Own It lol, and I still play it. But a next gen AvP would be nice. Hell a next gen Predator game would be amazing. What can I say I'm a Predator fan boy.

So... Jennifer Hale just tweeted a link to Republique remastered. Anyone know if it's any good? Maybe worth getting the original on my phone/tablet if not this version on PC?
