The parts that they added I didn't think actually added any value, wasn't nearly as good as the original scene, and the parts they removed really detracted from the story line and as I said, basically destroyed the premise that makes up the second book.

I love the cast, but what they did to the storyline was a travesty.

I pretty much agree with all of that.

But... what about the free lollipop? Think about the lollipop!  :P

Nah, I know what you mean. When I was younger, I feared the dentist, with good reason. One of my teeth had decayed so much that when it had to be puled out, it literally broke into tiny little pieces.  Now I don't fear it so much. Having a root-canal treatment done at age 11 helps.  :P

I have a high tolerance for local anesthetic, so it takes a lot of work to numb me up. One of my back teeth was split down the middle and the dentist couldn't pull it out. So he drilled it out. Because he was having a hell of a time numbing me and he had already started drilling. I simply told him to get it over with quick and he continued to work. I know he tired his best and I really don't blame him. But, ever since I dread going to the dentists office.

Yeah, last time I had some work done, the anaesthetic didn't work either. Well, no, it worked. It just didn't kick in until after the work was done.

It could very well have been her parents idea. Pain is something you can get used too. I know that when I have children, any sort of painkiller is only going to be used when it's absolutely necessary. My mum did it with me and now I have a very high pain threshold, which I am grateful for.

And having a drill in your mouth isn't considered necessary? Dear god.

Not to me. It's a trained professional doing it, so the likelihood of any ****-ups is low. And if you don't know any different, there isn't really any harm.

When I grew up I never got any anesthetic in dentist while drilling, ever. It wasn´t even an option back then.

I've encountered it with ranch, and it is delicious, but prefer the chipotle. :)

Drills cause huge amounts of pain. Anaesthesia isn't used because the dentist might screw up, it's there because this isn't the middle ages and why go through pain if you don't need to?
